CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Processing & Food Ingredients Division. We are looking for an Electrician to join our growing team. You must be a self-starter, organized and detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and able to work well independently and lead a group.You will:Maintain all electrical equipment in reliable working condition as directed by the Department Manager or as needed and requested by other department managers.Remove and replace electrical equipment and systems including documentation of work performed and drawings of electrical system modifications.Work with all hand and power tools used in the electrical trade.Work with all test instruments normally used in the electrical trade.Install electrical equipment, conduit systems, and wiring according to the National Electrical Code.Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic equipment and wiring systems from 0-15KV.Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair voice and data communication networks and fire alarm systems.Clean up all work areas and electrical equipment and switchgear rooms.Work together with other crafts and fellow electricians.Understand and work according to all safety procedures implemented in the plant.Direct others when projects require crews of several electricians.Train new employees.Perform other duties that may be reasonably assigned.Basic Qualifications: (required)Ability to distinguish between colors ranging from red to violetAbility to spend considerable periods on feet including walking, standing, climbing steps, and climbing laddersAbility to lift, use tools, shovel, and sweep.Ability to push, pull, and physically lift 50 lbs. from the floor, to the waist, and above the head.
Incumbent may be required to work while squatting, kneeling, or crawling.Ability to work in noisy, dusty, and otherwise undesirable conditions.Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 120 ft.Preferred Qualifications: (desired)Current Class ‘A’ Journeyman licenseManufacturing or food processing facility experience
