BSG currently operates two grain facilities. Beginning in 2011, BSG built a state-of-the-art river grain terminal in Fairmont City, Illinois across the Mississippi River from St. Louis. The Fairmont City facility is capable of receiving grains, soybeans, their byproducts and other bulk commodities and efficiently ships them either domestically or to the export market. Also in 2011, BSG began leasing a grain elevator in McLeansboro, Illinois, in a key agricultural production region in Southern Illinois. The McLeansboro facility can handle 90-car trains to serve domestic markets in the southeastern United States as well as export markets. BSG is managed by a Board of Managers appointed by both of the owners of the joint venture, and both companies also provide services to BSG. Position Summary: Primary responsibility is the operation of the grain elevator as it pertains to loading, unloading and transferring grain and grain products in an efficient, safe and sanitary manner. Also assists or leads in all other aspects of grain handling, storage, maintaining facilities/equipment and elevator operations. Core Functions: Assists in all areas of the loading, unloading and transferring of grain and grain products for barge, truck and rail (location specific) and inspects trucks, barges and railcars before loading.Subject matter expert in all facets of Bunge’s safety programs and culture, has a strong working knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations, demonstrates safe working practices, has the ability to perform JHA’s, recognizes near misses and leads the majority of safety meetings.Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties.Performs rail/barge draft calculations.Oversees maintenance projects, has a strong understanding of all facets of maintenance for the facility and is an equipment expert.Accurately perform inventory management. Leads operations in the absence of management. Skill/Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferredAssociates, Technical or Mechanical Degree desired5+ years of experienceStrong written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced computer skillsSubject matter expert in all safety related rules and proceduresAdvanced in maintenance, equipment operations, safety programs and grain operationsWork under minimal or no supervision on complex projects and assist or train less experienced peers.Proven leader and track record of making operational decisions aligned with local management expectations.
