Emergency Responder & Dispatchers control the dispatch center and provide resources to the incident commander and emergency operations center. In this role, you will respond to emergency alarms and gather all available data and compare with plan, decide if plan applies, and dispatch personnel to the incident scene. You will obtain required resources and activate incident command to ensure successful resolution and immediate response.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Answer site 24×7 telephone and make referrals as per Operating Discipline. Communicate as per the Operating Discipline during normal conditions and emergency conditions. Use all relevant information systems to gather information on emergencies and communicates as required. Use communications system to direct responders to the site of an incident (dispatch). Understand all relevant information systems to gather information on emergencies. Have an understanding of and be knowledgeable about the emergency plan. Understand the environment of an emergency scene. Be aware of any impairments in emergency response systems, equipment and resources. Communicate during an emergency. Use all the communication equipment in the dispatch center. Use all relevant information systems to gather information on emergencies and communicates as required. Interpret the data on the emergency and decide if the plan applies. Be able to ask for any additional resources required.QualificationsThe following are required: High School Diploma/GED 1-2 years of experience in Emergency Response, Dispatch, Emergency Services or related field Willingness and ability to work shift work to accommodate 24/7 operations Willingness and ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends when necessary Computer skills and experienceThe following are preferred: Associates Degree 3-5 years of experience in Emergency Response, Dispatch, Emergency Services or related fieldApply for this job.
