Emissions Testing Technician – #01F99
Description: Provides project support with emissions testing and industrial hygiene projects. Hands-on job that requires mechanical and electrical aptitude of equipment used in testing, and fundamental knowledge of laboratory methods for sampling and testing. Responsibilities:Assemble and prepare sampling probes, metering consoles, glassware, chemicals and ancillary equipment for field sampling projects, load equipment into testing trailer and secure for safe transport, per Emissions Testing Group (ETG) checklists and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).Perform field emissions tests in accordance with USEPA and other methods, and Emissions Testing Group (ETG) Standard Operating Practices. This includes setup and preparation of equipment in the field, performing sampling and sample recovery operations, and any on-site analyses.Repair, maintain and calibrate emissions testing equipment including metering consoles, sampling probes, umbilicals, pitot tubes, and instrumentation per ETG SOPs. Modify sampling equipment as necessary to meet necessities of field and emissions source conditions. Perform all work safely and in accordance with ETG safety programs & practices, and Monsanto policies.Assist in Industrial Hygiene (IH) field measurement and testing projects as needed.Travel up to 30% Qualifications:Education:High school diploma requiredAssociates degree or technical certification in environmental science, chemistry or biology, or equivalent work experience preferred Work Experience:Chemical, industrial, or QA /QC laboratory; industrial equipment or instrument maintenance; agricultural experience, e.g., family farm required Special Skills:General knowledge of electrical principals, residential / industrial wiring; proficiency with hand tools, mechanical assemblies requiredApply for this job.
