Engineering & Maintenance Business Unit Leader – #01DC6
Job SummaryReporting to the Plant Manager, this role is responsible for leading an organization of 200+ employees and a budget of ~$60M. The organizations making up this business unit include the Luling Plant Maintenance, Central Engineering, Process Control and Information Technology teams. This position is responsible for developing long-term business strategies, selecting and developing leaders and teams, and collaborating with other Business Unit Leaders to set direction for the plant. The role is accountable for the safe, on schedule, effective and on budget execution of all maintenance and project work to meet the needs of the business. Specific Responsibilities of this positionProvides expertise for strategic decision-making and problem solvingSets organizational structure and ensures adequate staffing to meet business needsApproves the annual Plant capital and Business Unit expense annual budgets Completes periodic leverage analysis and monthly cost spending forecastProvides leadership to drive proactive, predictive maintenance practices to improve equipment reliability, lower cost, and improve unit on-stream time Manages execution of construction and maintenance work to meet regulatory, corporate, and site standardsPrepares annual goals for the Business UnitResponsible for personnel development, including:Mentoring, coaching, and trainingFormal goal setting and performance feedbackPositive reinforcement and formal recognitionCareer development opportunities and role succession planningRedirecting feedback following Monsanto???s performance management , as neededSupports and facilitates corporate technical exchanges Leads plant wide initiatives and drives consistent best practices Supports and participates in company wide auditsMeets customer expectations and respond in a timely manner to concernsEnsures compliance with Environmental and Freedom to Operate requirementsParticipates in safety inspections, as well as manages safety issuesImproves/Develops systems and work processes to deliver resultsDemonstrates an unwavering commitment to Monsanto???s Pledge, business conduct, and Environmental, Safety, Health, and Quality core values Qualifications: EducationB.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) or related technical fieldMBA is a plus Experience10 or more years of previous manufacturing experience is desired or broad Monsanto organizational knowledge5 or more years of demonstrated people leadership experience Competencies/Skills Challenges business practices effectively Strong oral and written communication skillsEffectively communicates at all levels of the organizationStrong advocate for change management and leading through changeResults and action oriented individualDemonstrated decision making skillsMust deliver on commitmentsProvides leadership and development opportunities for his/her staffProvides timely and useful feedback within and outside the departmentStrong personal computer and analytical skillsDemonstrates the Monsanto Global Competencies and Leadership CompetenciesPromotes new ideas for improving team performanceDemonstrates initiative and foresight Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess:MBAChemical manufacturing experienceApply for this job.
