Engineering Plastics Compounding Trainee / Technician

Wyandotte, Michigan As a Technician at the Wyandotte Engineering Plastics Compounding facility, you will be responsible for selecting, charging and mixing raw materials, as well as set-up and operation of compounding equipment. A training process is established, providing a balance of computer based learning and job shadowing experience. This position is part of a job family with multiple levels and will be filled at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. The incumbent will be assigned to one of the four teams working on a rotating 12-hour schedule, and will report to that team's Shift Supervisor. Successful BASF Technicians have a highly developed teamwork competency, the ability to work under time constraints, excellent customer focus, as well as the ability to execute tasks safely, consistently and reliably. Our Technicians work for prolonged periods with high activity including standing, walking, stretching, ascending and descending stairs. They will periodically lift up to 55lbs. Salary grade and range will be commensurate with experience and aligned with the training progression grid.
