Engineering Technology Solution Lead
This position is responsible for providing technical guidance and support to achieve the most effective use of SmartPlant technology as it is applied to capture and continuously improve Manufacturing Technology and Engineering (MT&E) knowledge.? The anticipated results are designs that routinely meet our expectations, leading to improvements in safety performance, capital effectiveness, operational excellence of our sites.
This position performs technical guidance and support of activities related to the use, administration and configuration of the SmartPlant solution, ensuring optimal alignment between inherent product capabilities/limitations and business objectives.? The position provides technical guidance and support to Manufacturing Technology Leaders, Operating Philosophy Subject Matter Experts and Engineering Discipline Leads as they endeavor to capture engineering knowledge in the SmartPlant suite of products.? And, this position guides and supports the efforts of Engineering Service Providers as they translate new knowledge requirements into enforceable rules, templates and specifications in data centric, rules driven engineering applications.? Furthermore, this position guides and supports Engineering Services Providers as they endeavor to apply the knowledge to design new facilities and retrofit existing ones.
This position performs system configuration and administration functions and coordinates the system configuration and administration activities performed by others. This position coordinates a continuous improvement process for the Smart Plant implementation and liaises with the technology solution provider to facilitate system improvements while maintaining proper configuration management.? This position stays abreast of latest product enhancements and roadmaps and plans for timely introduction into the solution. This position provides technical guidance and support to 3rd parties that render technical services related to the use, administration and configuration of the solution.? This position partners with Global Information Technology (Global I/T) to ensure the system is administered according to policies and procedures.
This position applies subject matter expertise in the field of data centric engineering and capex information management in collaboration with internal and external partners to advance Cargill?s life-cycle digitalization efforts.
Applies mastery of data centric engineering and information management technology to guide and support the use, administration and configuration of the SmartPlant suite of products to define, store and continuously reuse Cargill?s Manufacturing Technology and Engineering (MT&E) Knowledge.? This knowledge will be represented in SmartPlant products as specifications, catalogs, assemblies, models, and rules.
People and Process Guidance ? (40%):
??Provides technical guidance to Cargill?s Manufacturing Technology Communities and Engineering Service Providers to facilitate selection of most appropriate methods to represent engineering knowledge in Smart Plant.
??Performs technical audits of knowledge defined by Engineering Service Providers to ensure use of most appropriate methods to represent engineering knowledge.
??Performs periodic audits of how the solution is being used by internal and external stakeholders.? Provides feedback to stakeholders on observations to help them improve their performance.
??Collaborates with Engineering Discipline Leads to facilitate representation of Cargill?s engineering standards in Smart Plant.
??Provides technical oversight to 3rd party technology solution providers as they create Smart Plant reference data.
??Provides technical assistance to Cargill?s Build Project Teams to maximize the effectiveness of the knowledge captured within the solution as it is leveraged on projects.
??Leverages subject matter expertise, to ensure suitability and accuracy of technical training materials.
Chief Smart Plant Technologist ? (30%):
??As Cargill?s chief SmartPlant technologist, this role provides critical technical insight to optimize the results of the SmartPlant technology as it?s applied to the MT&E Knowledge business processes and other future business processes.
??Provides expert guidance needed to maintain alignment between the system?s technical capabilities and intended utilization as reflected in documented work processes, guides, procedures and training materials.
??Applies subject mastery to identify opportunities to improve the way SmartPlant technology is leveraged on existing use cases to improve results.
