Position Overview:This position is responsible for leading efforts to provide guidance on the selection and design of Compeer”s business applications and technology environment. Designs overall application environment for maximum scalability, reliability, accessibility, flexibility, maintainability and reusability. Assists in the development and enforcement of information standards (application, development, network, security, integration, etc.) to minimize redundancies and enable a scalable application infrastructure. Implements applications with an enterprise view and blueprint with an eye towards buy vs build, rather than independent point solutions and participates in the evaluation of vendor application packages. Assists in the development of a forward-looking technology roadmap that incorporates Compeer”s organizational business needs, technology best practices and process improvements, while considering new trends and emerging technologies. Resolves high-level functional conflicts, provides technical leadership, coaching to the Business Technology team in the development or selection of applications solutions, and provides continuity in all application acquisition and solution decisions.Essential Functions: * Designs, customizes, and implements robust, secure, scalable, flexible, maintainable and reusable systems across n-tier platforms. * Acts as a design authority and ensures that all architecture activities and deliverables are produced to a high quality and are consistent with existing standards, policies and strategies. * Reviews and assesses corporate goals, strategies and assets along with everyday processes and procedures in order to develop EA models and strategies. * Prepares one or more architectural models for each aspect of the job and to establish baselines and benchmarks that serves to future-proof our organization. * Leads the development of standard Enterprise Architecture artifacts including: Principles, Business Capability Models, Roadmaps, Solution Overviews, Technology Reference Models, Guidelines, Landscape Diagrams and Solution Designs. * Maintains regular interaction with organizational and technology leaders to understand current and emerging business needs in order to create effective architectures that will aid in meeting business objectives. * Participation in developing policies, guidelines and standards that steer the development, selection, application and utilization of systems within the organization. * Works with business units to identify requirements and design solutions to address the business needs as they appear in emerging projects, products and programs. * Assists with improving business processes through the use of well-designed technology solutions. * Ensures individual software projects adhere to the application development methodology, technology infrastructure, and business strategy by participating in various project activities such as vendor evaluations, solution/security evaluations, project framing/estimation, and technical designs (software, hardware, networking, integrations, and data). * Takes a lead role in the full life cycle development of the technical solutions for business projects from initial concept, requirement gathering, specification, design, delivery, acceptance and operational support.Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Bachelor”s degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. * 10+ years of IT related experience and 3-5 years of Enterprise Architecture related experience. * Recognized EA Framework Certification preferred, CISSP strongly desired. * Must possess a high level of understanding of Compeer”s business, processes, and requirements. * Strategic and innovative. * Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. * Strong critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills. * Effective negotiating, consulting and coaching skills. * Expertise in analysis and design. * Ability to clarify complicated technical concerns to non-technical individuals. * Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. * Ability to set priorities and adapt to changing situations. * Ability to remain objective in balancing business needs and risk. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals and represent the business.
