Environmental Health & Safety Manager ? New Braunfels, TX ADM Milling This is an exempt level position
Position Summary:This position will be responsible for location health, safety, environmental and sanitation compliance at the New Braunfels Texas plant.
Primary responsibilities include supervising various committees including audit and incident investigation, emergency planning, risk assessment, program development, implementation, and training of rules and procedures.
This position will possess a high level of authority in regards to training and guiding based on needs developed through information submitted on reports and annual requirements.
Job Responsibilities: While working in an office and industrial facility, the EHS/Sanitation Manager will handle a broad range of activities and will be responsible for supervising the implementation of ADM?s policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Onboard new employees through ADM proceduresProvide relevant training for, new hires, contractors, and location colleagues as required.Direct Colleague interaction.Develop and update health, safety, and environmental compliance programs.Obtain Commercial Pesticide Applicator License & Structural Pest Control Applicator License within 6 months.Perform plant insecticide spraying as needed. (after obtaining license) De-gas wheat and flour railcars (after obtaining license)Work closely with and manage plant visits by third party Pest Control Company.Analysis and submission of reports.Calibration and repair of safety equipment.Purchasing and maintaining inventory of safety, plant specific and environmental supplies.Update all Federal, State and Local permits.Environmental responsibilities including maintaining reports to meet ADM environmental compliance.Program documents (maintenance and storage of documents).Spending time in the plant ensuring all programs and procedures are followed and adequate.Maintain current behavior based safety programs and policies.Maintain required paperwork such as OSHA 300 logs in compliance with federal law.Participate in and lead all incident investigations.Conduct internal facility audits and facility self ? assessments.Develop and track corrective actions for audit findings.In depth knowledge of all ADM health, safety and environmental software programs.
Keep all safety and environmental programs up to date.Lead on-site safety committees.Knowledge of machines throughout facility, including computer and safety equipment.Job Requirements:
College degree relating to safety and/or environmental preferred.Prefer experience in human safety and environmental/regulatory compliance.Must be self-motivated and must have excellent command of the following skills: leadership, team building, problem solving, organization, and both written and verbal communication.Obtain Commercial Pesticide Applicator License & Structural Pest Control Applicator License within 6 months.Experience in a food processing plant is preferred.Must be proficient using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.This position requires walking or standing for extended periods and working in environments at varying temperatures.This position requires an individual that is available to come to work during off-hours to address emergency conditions or other situations that may arise.Must have a demonstrated history of safe work behavior and a sincere desire to follow and improve upon safety policies and procedures (previous safety committee and/or other safety leadership experience is a plus).
