Environmental Manager (Indianapolis, Johnston, Wilmington or Remote)
DescriptionCorteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager (Regulatory Project Leader). The primary purpose of this position is to provide Environmental Project Management Support for the Global Corteva Operation. The position will support both the Crop Protection and Seeds Business Platforms, including all Manufacturing/Production Facilities, Field Research Stations, and Laboratories. The Regulatory Project Leader is a highly Technical Position, requiring strong Leadership, Organizational, and Regulatory skills/abilities. The position does not have any direct reporting personnel, but due to the nature of the role it requires excellent Supervisorial skills as it will routinely supervise Professional Project Experts and provide complex Training/Guidance to all levels of the organization. The position exists to deliver world-class Environmental Delivery Support to Corteva Operations, and requires the ability to work independently in a complex regulatory and dynamic business environment. This is a very hands-on Environmental Position focused on the responsibilities as indicated below. The incumbent will be instrumental in developing a sustainable culture of compliance with all applicable environmental laws, rules, and regulations.The position is available to be filled in Indianapolis, IN, Johnston, IA, Wilmington, DE, or remotely (home based).Strategy and Planning Ensure effective strategies and resources are anticipated and effectively managed in order to achieve Regulatory Compliance for assigned work.Develop, support, and facilitate implementation of targeted EH&S work processes, best practices and most effective technologies; coordinate and align priorities and initiatives; audit the effectiveness of processes and implementation; and identify opportunities for improvement across the company.Align competency objectives with corporate, platform, geographic, functional and team strategies, priorities and resources. Assist CoE Regulatory Leader to align priorities, set objectives, track progress, evaluate performance and provide feedback.Work Processes / ImprovementEffectively support the Business Platforms by implementing standalone projects that drive improved work processes, improves compliance, directly support businesses, regions and sites as assigned. Provide consultation, guidance and information to leaders, managers and employees to achieve business goals and strengthen the commitment to company's core values.Develop and Analyze Key Regulatory Metrics, leading indicators, performance data and task specific metrics in order to identify trends, drive improvement project development and validate project success.Development and delivery of targeted Regulatory Standards, Guidance, and implementation tools/training material for Delivery of Regulatory solutions at Corteva Facilities.Measure project performance against goals, client expectations and develop improvement plans based on feedback.Ensure work product meets Corporate EHS&S Standards and current Governmental Regulatory standards/guidance, including individual country requirements.Ensure project plans and project status are well communicated and supported. Ensure work product is in alignment and properly documented within the company's Operating Management System (CAMS).Develop and maintain the necessary protocols for Project Assignments.Support and participate in the Compliance Auditing Programs as assigned.Accountable for project expenses, ensure all work is completed to meet Corteva spending prioritization plan. Lead, facilitate, and/or participate in expertise area incident root cause analyses where assigned. Leads and/or facilitates implementation and utilization of expert area work processes / tools as assigned.Align with IT initiatives, updates, cyber security processes and toolsExpertise Lead complex and high profile Regulatory Projects for CortevaEstablish effective Regulatory Delivery Model to ensure compliance at company facilitiesDevelop and maintain efficient and effective relationships with external business partnersRepresent the company with regulatory agencies for both routine and complex regulatory issuesLead regulatory improvement projects effectively in all mediaNetworkingFacilitate seeking out market leading work processes, tools, and concepts to advance the implementation of compliance programs at the site and regional levels.Participate in Global Regulatory and cross-functional networks to enhance knowledge transfer and performance improvement.Provide support for regulatory advocacy initiatives including participation in relevant industry and professional/external associations.Accountable for alignment to networks / publications / expertise to facilitate staying abreast of changing regulatory requirementsQualificationsRequirements:Chemical/Environmental Engineering Degree or equivalent is required; Advanced degree preferred.
