Equip Operator Truck Driver (Caldwell, ID)

We currently have a night shift, Equipment Operator/Truck Driver position available at our Idaho Plant location.Simplot Transportation believes in bringing earths resources to life, and supports this mission by hauling raw potatoes and agricultural products into our manufacturing facilities, and frozen product out, to feed the world. We also provide on-site support to our manufacturing facilities and other areas of the business. This position provides loading and transport services for materials such as waste, starch, and batter; and supports all areas of the Idaho facility and transportation as needed in a manner consistent with safety, quality and production goals.Responsibilities Include:Ensures that equipment in assigned area of operations is monitored and properly maintained.Ensures sanitation and proper cleaning of equipment and work area.Monitors waste such as potato byproduct, dirt, rocks and vine.Works carefully to ensure no injury to self or others. Follows safe work practices (including Standard Operating Procedures) policies, and exercising common sense.Ensures the quality of the raw product entering the lines is appropriate. Monitors raw product entering the raw receiving area. Closely monitors unloading process. Ensures appropriate lots are unloaded on appropriate receiving line. Ensures there is no injury to self or others by following safe work practices (including Standard Operating Procedures) and policies.Utilizes computer and computer programs to communicate, document, and track information and ensures that all documents and reports are completed accurately in a timely and efficient manner.Ensures compliance with DOT regulations with regard to trucks and drivers.May assist with training other personnel.Ensures that additional accountabilities required by management are handled in a manner necessary to meet operational standards.Qualifications Include:High school diploma and 2 years of experience in a processing factory or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience to include: understanding of operations, duties in production, knowledge of Raw Receiving, Transportation requirements, equipment performance setup, adjustments, calibrations, and alignments.Valid CDL Class A license and valid Med Cert.Lift truck license or the ability to obtain.This job also requires experience with a front end loader and dump truck.Operates small equipment and tools to maintain plant operations.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and regularly bending over.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to interact well with all levels of employees within the organization. Working knowledge of input into a computer system to facilitate job duties.The ability to resolve and/or repair routine or serious problems or understanding of when to report to other specialists. Ability to work with others and understanding of when to escalate issues.Must be willing to accept a wide variety of job assignments and work under general direction.Shifts:Base Schedule: Night 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m, following shift rotation of the plant.Employees will work 4 days one week, 3 days the following week and repeat, having every other weekend off.
