With operations in 13 states, CSS is one of the largest growers of chip potatoes and seed potatoes in North America. Our three main business segments include chip potato, seed potato and specialty potato production. RelationshipsThe Equipment Manager works with the Pacific Northwest and location Farm Managers to effectively manage planting and harvest equipment for approximately 1,000 acres of ground for potato seed production annually. Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesAccountable for all equipment and facilities management to ensure the execution of cost effective and timely maintenance.Maintenance, repair, and calibration of all field equipment and center pivot irrigation systems.Maintenance and repair of all shipping and load out equipment and buildings.Troubleshooting and resolving new and/or different technical problems regarding equipment.Manage all parts and inventory.Assist with all equipment sourcing and purchasing.Direct, coordinate, and support maintenance personnel.Follow the safety program and assure all state and federal requirements are met such as OSHA.Maintain necessary records for maintenance and scheduling.Assist Farm Managers with budget preparation.Assist Farm Managers with planting, harvest, and shipping functions as necessary. Required Position QualificationsDemonstrated strong work-ethic, outstanding leadership ability and exceptional interpersonal skillsHigh School Diploma or equivalentSelf-directed individual who leads projects to identify and implement solutions with team inputAt least one year of agriculture, farm equipment and management experienceAt least one year of irrigation system experienceAdaptability to changing situations and have the ability to perform multiple tasks with multiple prioritiesProficient in the use of Windows based computer programs (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and a general aptitude with software systemsExcellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to train and work with operational personnel on the farmSuperior organizational and project management skills and experience leading and managing peopleAbility to acquire and hold a valid US driver s license and successfully pass vehicle insurance verificationCandidates must be eligible to work unrestricted in the U.S. without company sponsorshipAbility to comprehend, read, write and communicate proficiently in English and interact with all levels of the organization. Preferred Position QualificationsPotato planting and harvesting equipment experience preferredAssociates of Applied Science or Bachelors of Science degree in an agricultural related fieldBilingual in English/Spanish preferred5+ years experience in agriculture, irrigation systems and working with farm equipment as well as ability to travel up to 30% of work timePrevious experience working with potatoes and irrigated crops CompensationSalary will be commensurate with experience and skills.
