The ESH Site Safety Lead reports to the Operations Lead and is a member of the Site Leadership Team. The scope of the role includes managing, overseeing and driving all aspects of the implementation and maintenance of the site safety programs. The ESH Site Safety Lead will maintain a strong relationship with QMS/Compliance, ESH Specialist network, Department Managers and other site personnel to resolve production challenges. The successful candidate will need to be able to adapt quickly to changes in our business, courageously face new challenges and opportunities and leverage the talents, skills and resources of team members, peers and others. Responsibilities:Leads and drives short to mid-term ESH strategy (3-12 months, LRP 5 years) at the sitelevel Lead and drive awareness, ownership, and accountability of the ESH program at the site while working across function and geographyMaintain performance metrics/KPIs along with recordkeeping systems???Environment, Safety, and Health???required to document compliance with all Monsanto and legal requirementsCreate, drive, and maintain ESH programs at the siteEvaluate and ensure that proper risk analysis processes are in place to share both opportunities and best practices across the sites.Work with ESH Specialists, Corporate Environmental Affairs, and Global Engineering to evaluate and prepare permit applications and/or exemption records for new and changing processes. Utilize a risk analysis process to evaluate new and changing processes and the effectiveness of existing requirements Partners across the organization to ensure alignment of ESH programs and projectsResponsible for the completing the MOC process from a ESH perspectiveEnables and supports needed Environmental permit/program changes to meet business changesEnsures that sites are complying with the Contractor Guest program to drive improved safety results (ISN & similar) Qualifications: Required Skills:Minimum of a BS with 1-3+ years relevant experience to include knowledge of applicable government regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc.) Demonstrated ability to lead teamsResults oriented approachCapability to clearly present information and influence or persuade others through oral or written communicationsAbility to make decisions and solve problems while exhibiting situational judgment Desired SkillsPreferred degree disciplines are Occupational Safety and Health, Environment Safety and Health, Safety or Environmental Management, Engineering, and Safety or Environmental ScienceCompletion of OSHA???s 30 hour General Industry courseExperience with agriculture / seed industry / biotech industryExperience in working and/or leading in a matrix environmentApply for this job.
