Event Manager Foodservice
ExemptPosition Description: Serves as program manager of appropriate PMA and CGTbyPMA events, programs and webinars, including Foodservice Conference. Responsible for the maintenance of event strategic and action plans. Responsible for creating, maintaining and adhering to event budgets. Responsible for major decisions pertaining to events. Contributes/leads innovation in events for which position is responsible. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, management of staff teams, internal and external communications, creation and management of project time lines, event-related policies, sponsorship logistics, site visits, and on-site event management. RelationshipsWorks under the general direction of the Vice President of Events & Education. Works frequently with staff from other PMA and CGTbyPMA departments to manage events and programs. Leads and motivates staff teams in event management. ContactsHas daily, significant contact with PMA members, prospective members, volunteers, committee members, country representatives and staff. At times, directs outside vendor work and works with marketing partners. Represents PMA and CGTbyPMA to members both in person and on the telephone. ResponsibilitiesManages the planning, execution and evaluation of assigned events, webinars and programs (60%):Works with staff, country representatives, volunteer committees and other volunteers to assist in the development of new programs and events as well as exploring expansion, repackaging, and other alternatives for existing programs.Works with Marketing, PR and business development on strategic direction, development and execution of plans.Works with Education and Training, Digital Content and R&D on direction, execution and evaluation of educational programming.Works with the Meetings and Trade Shows on strategic direction, development and execution of logistics and expo. Works with Finance, IT and Solutions on registration planning and execution.Works with CGTbyPMA to plan and execute their offerings, as well as ensure their programs and goals are integrated into PMA programs, where applicable.Creates and maintains event action plans. (10%)Creates and maintains program and event budgets. (10%)Has daily, significant contact with PMA members, committee members, prospective members, volunteers, country reps, event partners and staff. (Continuous)Manages and gives direction to staff members, country reps, event partners, committee members outside vendors and contractors in conjunction with PMA events. (5%)Analyzes and evaluates programs, processes and lessons learned to ensure continued success of events. (5%)Responds to routine telephone and email requests for event information (10%)Responsibilities include signing purchase orders, expense reports, invoices and other expense authorizations up to $50,000.
