POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs rounds conducting equipment operational changes, visual checks, and logging information on the following utility systems:
* Waste Water Treatment Plant * Sanitary Waste Water Treatment Plant * Electrical Substations * Air Compressors * Chilled Water Units * Cooling Towers * Conducts the following water tests as required daily. * Diaphragm Water System on Air Compressors: Nitrates, Molybdenum, pH * Chilled Water Units: Chlorine * Cooling Towers: Phosphonate, pH, Calcium, Free Chlorine, LSI, Cycles, M-Alkalinity * Monitors all substations on site checking for grounds or variations in the electrical system by taking log readings for voltage, amps, power factor, Kvar, Kv, oil transfer levels, and temperature. * Works with Maintenance Department personnel in setting up maintenance jobs relative to site utilities. * Monitors chlorine levels, aerators, pumps, lift pumps, and flow for the sanitary sewer system. * Controls all gate access into the plant during the off-shift acting as liaison with any outside vender or services that required access to the plant during this time. * Responsible for maintaining general housekeeping guidelines in their designated work area. * Monitors steam and water usages. * Operates process waste water plant EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college experience desirable. * One to two (1-2) years manufacturing experience, preferably chemical operation.
* Exposure to utilities and/or maintenance relative to plant operations desirable. TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * General mechanical knowledge and understanding of pumps. * Functional understanding of basic plant utilities. * Ability to take accurate equipment readings and log information correctly. * Excellent attention to detail. * Proficient with computers (e.g. email; internet; computer based training);familiarity with Microsoft office is preferred.
