For more information about us please visit www.syngenta.com.Role Purpose:This position will provide the overall engineering leadership for the operation and maintenance of the equipment assets for all seed treating, chemical handling and planter testing operations at the Seedcare Institute. This includes management/development of unit personnel, developing/implementing continuous improvement plans, assure compliance with all HSEQ regulations (both internal and external), meet budgetary expectations, deliver the SCI training schedule, and maintain focus on customer satisfaction.Accountabilities:Ensure all equipment at the facility are functional and ready to meet business needsProvide equipment operational training to seedcare customers who attend SCI application training and develop the SCI training scheduleConduct equipment area tours to visiting regional and international customersConduct annual preventive maintenance on treating and planter equipment by partnering with appropriate 3rd party service providersCarry out scale-up production trials of new customized recipes for current commercial and new products under developmentLiaison with leading US seed treating and planter equipment manufacturers to maintain Syngenta leadership in seedcare application engineering, and to steer development of innovative new technologyEnsure all HSEQ documentations are in place, and are in compliance with state and federal regulatory requirementsConduct all equipment area operations are conducted in an HSEQ responsible manner, promoting ownership of HSEQ at all levels within the area of responsibility.Ensure all equipment operator training manuals and HSE documents (Job Safety Analysis, SOPs etc) and certifications are up to date, reporting/incident action items are completed in a timely manner, unit compliance documentation is complete and accurate.Drive maintenance strategy and capital investment priorities to meet delivery and reliability requirements.Create and maintain facility critical spare partsEstablish and meet annual budgets for the equipment treating area.Create a culture of continuous improvement, customer focus and elimination of non-value added work.Ensure an open atmosphere for communication and the development of a high performance team.Support and champion all corporate initiatives for the area of responsibility.Knowledge, Experience, CapabilitiesBachelor degree from a recognized university in one of the engineering disciplines Electrical / Mechanical / Agricultural / Chemical engineering with knowledge in automationHands on experience in industrial electro-mechanical equipment and working knowledge of SCADA auto-control system is highly desirableKnowledge of seed industry operations will be an assetCandidate should have good communication skill, excellent team work, process oriented and safety consciousSyngenta is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in recruitment, hiring, training, promotion or any other employment practices for reasons of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, sexual orientation, marital or veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.Apply for this job.
