Farm Labor Operations Officer Fowler Packing Company, a large family friendly agricultural grower, packer and shipper of fresh fruits and real estate developer, has an exciting opportunity for a Farm Labor Operations Officer to join our team.We offer a competitive salary and a generous benefits package, which includes Health, Vision, Dental and Life Insurance, paid vacation, 401k and Profit Sharing upon meeting eligibility requirements.We are looking for an individual that has a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in Agriculture Farm Labor operations specializing in Labor Law. Must be bilingual (Spanish) with the ability to read, write and speak Spanish/English.This position will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the office staff and workforce. Leads and directs the work of others. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Plans and directs all aspects of an organization’s operational policies, objectives, and initiatives. Must be able to analyze and attain short and long term financial and operational goals.The position acts as a resource for companies’ employees to assist with personnel issues, questions, agricultural management training, and conflict resolution while providing direction. The incumbent maintains continual contact with all levels of the workforce and informs management of problems, opportunities, employee morale, culture, implements policies and procedures. Acts as a liaison between ownership and supervisors with excellent communication skills. Desired AttributesRespect for diversity with a caring approachDependable and accountablePositive attitude and a team playerExcellent communication skills accompanied by ability to listenProactive approach all aspects of operations Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages the day-to-day operations of supervisors, office staff and office operations with direction from ownership.Responsible for enforcement of company policies and standards through written material such as the employee handbook, training and consistent communication.Ensures company compliance with all wage and hour laws and other regulatory agenciesParticipates in company-wide training and development, including, but not limited to safety, harassment and leadership.Counsels employees and managers on employee relations issues and problems; ensures disciplinary actions and terminations are carried out legally and consistently.Analyze and evaluate current operations with a proactive approach with the ability to make suggestions of improvement to ownership.Must be adaptable and flexible to change and to remain calm and professional at all timesPrimary point of contact for all unemployment issues and represents employer at hearings.Process incoming paperwork including new hire data, performance reviews and rate changes, associate file changes and terminations.Ability to exercise good and cautious judgment and effectively interface with all types of people diplomaticallyProvides legal guidance for worker’s compensation related claimsGeneral office responsibilities including, but not limited to: maintenance of personnel and confidential files, associate questions/requests and wage/employment verification.Multi-location responsibility some travel may be required.Track employee turnover by department/functional areaExcellent organization and time management skills with strong attention to detail requiredMust be able to multi-task in a high paced environmentOther duties & responsibilities as assigned.
