Farming operation in central Illinois is searching for a full-time Farm Mechanic to join their operation. They operate a variety of late model equipment and have a large, heated shop on-site. While the main responsibility of this individual will be keeping their fleet of equipment running properly, this person will also be involved with planting and harvesting activities. Duties and Responsibilities:Perform required and preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of farm equipment, including tractors, combines, spray rigs and fertilizer spreaders and semi-tractors.Acquire parts and supplies required for necessary repairsParticipate in planting and harvest activities as able toBackground Requirements and Experience:Diesel Technology degree, or similar, is requiredRow crop farming background is preferredGeneral welding abilityKnowledge of precision guidance systems is preferredCompensation:Hourly pay, based on experience, $16-$22/hourGreat opportunity for someone with a farming background to join a well-respected operation and still be able to participate in planting and combining activities.
