Job Opportunity: Grain Farm EmployeeAbout us…Long Vue Farms is a grain farming and land leasing operation that currently manages approximately 4500 acres of land in Todd and Logan counties in Kentucky as well as Montgomery and Robertson counties in Tennessee. We produce corn, soybeans, wheat, and malting barley. We also raise some Non-GMO specialty grains that we provide to distillers. Job Title: Farm employee, specifically Equipment Operator and Lead Mechanic Job Description: We are in search of a Primary Equipment Operator with the ability, attitude, and desire to develop into a leader and assistant manager. This team member will operate, service, and maintain multiple types of equipment. The employee will receive on the job training, read manuals, and attend classes to educate themselves on all issues dealing with operation and proper maintenance of the equipment they operate. Below is a general list of tasks and expectations:Operate and maintain a Sprayer, Planter, Combine, and Grain CartOperate Greenstar monitors as well as an iPad for records in most equipmentOperate a semi-truck hauling grain or water.General equipment operation such as mowing roadsides, liquid fertilizer application, front end loader work, and minor earth moving.Learn the operations of our Grain Handling FacilityDocument Records such as equipment services and crop yieldsUtilize Microsoft ExcelMiscellaneous “dirty jobs” completed as a team, such as scooping grain and cleaning equipmentHave an exceptionally good attitude and be able to communicate effectively with other team members. Job Requirements:High School or College DiplomaTeam player mentalityBasic tractor operation skillsPreferably experienced in the agricultural field, especially a farming backgroundValid driver’s licenseAble to pass a DOT physical, drug test, etc. Miscellaneous: Hours vary but general starting time is 7:00, will be earlier during busy seasons.Overtime pay for over 60 hours.Employee will not receive benefits until 90 days of employment.After 90 days we offer one week of vacation.
