Farrowing & Breeding Management
Do you have an Agricultural background with knowledge and experience in Swine Production? Do you have a strong desire to advance your career in livestock production with a leading pork producer? If so a well-established leader in the pork production industry would like to visit with you about their available Farrowing and Breeding Management positions. As the Farrowing and Breeding Manager this individual will be responsible for managing the farrowing and breeding teams at one of the company”s larger sow operations, while reporting directly to the overall Farm Manager. This individual will have the opportunity to work closely with company professionals and to grow into higher management roles themselves. Farrowing & Breeding Manager Responsibilities/Duties: * Working directly with other company employees and managers * Identifying signs of animal illness and administer vaccinations * Provide day one care to new born pigs * Ensure proper sow breeding practices * Help increase breeding rates and improve breeding programs * Increase the operation”s efficiency and farrowing rates * Hands-on work and coaching in the farrowing and/or breeding facilities * Manage and train farrowing and/or breeding teams while managing facility maintenance and inventory * Overseeing and documenting animal movement and farrowing & breeding rates * Document proper records and data Experience/Qualifications: * 2+ years of experience in swine production settings * Ability to work in a group and alongside other managers * Strong farrowing knowledge and day one care * Strong swine breeding knowledge and AI experience * Experience administering vaccinations to both sows and piglets * Piglet processing experience * Experience with livestock production software * Sow experience (Farrowing & Breeding preferred) * Swine nutrition knowledge is a plus * Able to keep proper documentation and reports * Animal Science or related degree preferred * Strong communication and people skills * PQA certification or ability to atain certification Compensation: * Competitive salary and bonus (depending on experience level) * Attractive benefit package * Advancement opportunity
