QUALIFICATIONS: – 3-5 years previous feedlot management experience and at least 10 years Feedlot experience as minimum- Revitalizing, rebuilding, or expansion experience would all be a huge plus- Strong animal health and nutrition experience- Work well with others, have good oral and written communication skills- Committed, loyal and honest- Self-starter, hardworking and have a good attitude- Require good computer skills JOB DESCRIPTION: Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a well-qualified Feedlot Manager for this Kansas Feedlot. Seeking a manager for a revitalization feed yard project that is permitted to a 30,000+ head of cattle. Needs to be a working manager, willing to work side-by-side and get their hands dirty and filling in gaps where needed and up for the challenge. This yard is currently less than 1/3 full and needs some TLC to bring it back to capacity. You will be working with motivated owners that want to build and expand this yard to full capacity. The ideal candidate is someone that has either built a Feedyard from scratch, renovated and expanded yards in the past, or taken unprofitable situations and made them a success. Salary is negotiable and may be set on a sliding scale so that one would be rewarded for accomplishments made, goals and profitability achieved, and/or meeting deadlines, objectives, and numbers that are worked through with the owners. Salary will be determined by skillset, experience, stability, and references and is open for negotiation. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:- Oversight of daily operations of the feedlot including feeding, processing, and care of cattle- Working closely and communicating with the customer to ensure cattle well-being, nutrition, and environmental needs are being met- Monitoring the health of the cattle and addressing issues in a timely manner- Hiring, training, supervising and dismissing of all employees at the feed yard- Ensure all repair and maintenance, both on the equipment and the yard, is completed in a timely manner and monitor all inventories and shop supplies- Manage all operating expenses of the yard and monitoring all inventories of the yard from hay, corn, silage, distillers, in addition to fuel and oil inventories- Communicating regularly with the owners to update on the operations of the yard, relationship with the customers, significant upcoming expense needs, and other issues that may arise in the process BENEFITS: Negotiable ALL INQUIRIES ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.
