Field Production RepresentativeVegetables DivisionNampa, Idaho Monsanto???s Vegetables Division is seeking a Field Production Representative to manage relationship between our company and our contracted vegetable seed growers. This is an exciting role to help influence and maintain the quality and consistency of the seed we provide to our vegetable customers. You will also help drive farm production innovation and champion the latest practices in land stewardship, water conservation and sustainability. In this role you will mix your time in the Filer, ID office and on the road visiting growers in Magic Valley of Idaho. Job Requirements Grower Contact:Face to face discussions and negotiations with contract growers to ensures best practices are adhered toUse annual grower ratings to evaluate growers performance Address issues in a positive and professional mannerUnderstand the importance of grower costs and how they are effectively managed. Manage Contractual Agreements with growers to ensure our business needs are secure according to our production strategy and approved budgets. Quality Control, Crop Management, Harvest & Delivery:Knowledge of all stages of the crop cycle and the practices of the local production teamReport production data accurately and be transparent to the businessAdvise growers on crop placement to meet targeted contract quality, quantity and delivery requirementsAdvise growers on Seasonal and Contract Labor to ensure procedures for approvals and cost is managed based on impact of labor and cost on productionUses metrics and targets to manage and deliver results to our business Meet expectations related to ISO 9001-2001 certification, Six Sigma and LEAN activities Innovation:Work with production research personnel to identify and address projects to improve reliability of supply. Understand how all production research is prioritized, agreed upon by the stakeholders and aligned with our regional production strategy.Know how data is analyzed, summarized and shared. Promote new techniques or procedures among growers Safety and Compliance Promote an environment of Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) and ensures all Monsanto ESH requirements are met fully executed and documented with the goal of ???zero??? recordable incidents. Ensure all employees and visitors are trained and follow established procedures on equipment. Qualifications:Required Skills/Experience: Bachelor???s degree Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) 1+ years experience seed/agriculture industry with a combination of manufacturing, operational and/or production experience.Desired Skills/Experience:Vendor management/Contract negotiation and oversight experienceUnderstanding of Six Sigma / LEAN concepts. Certification desired. Experience in SAP and/or FIDOApply for this job.
