Founded in 1818, the company is headquartered in White Plains, New York.Position Summary:The Field Representative will be responsible for conducting commercial, logistical and trading activities associated with grain origination and plant operation. The Field Representative is also responsible for keeping abreast of the latest rice production issues and assists in evaluating and communicating changing crop and market conditions. They will serve as a communication link between plant managers and the local rice growers.Core Functions:Administer paddy rice purchase program and contract all acres and varietiesManage paddy position in coordination with plant operationsPerform detailed logistics management and low-cost analysis scenarios for paddy delivery and storageCoordinate harvest activities with growers, truckers and rice dryersManage redemption process through collection of loan documentsCommunicate latest rice production information and assist in evaluating market conditionsAdvise on grower and pool relations as well as overall market intelligenceInitiate and respond to customer inquiries regarding grade reporting, accounting, bids, hours, contract status, etc. in a manner that exceeds the customers expectationsSkills/Experience Requirements;Bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, General Business, Finance required1+ years of experience in a related fieldPrior education or experience in business, economics, agriculture, or commodity trading with demonstrated analytical aptitudeMust possess the ability to develop a full and thorough knowledge of Bunges plant operations, logistics and safety procedures and accounting functionsBasic knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, market values, pricing and margin factors, highly preferredSales knowledge and negotiations skills, working knowledge of cash commodity trading and Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) experience desirableOrganizational skills and program execution capabilities required.Proficient written and communication skills neededProficiency with applicable computer software packages, as needed, including Microsoft Word and ExcelBunge is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
