Finance Lead – IT – #01DQE
The Global Finance Organization has an exciting opportunity available for a Finance Lead to provide financial leadership, support and analysis for the Global Information Technology (IT) Organization. As the agriculture landscape evolves, the IT organization is playing a key role in Monsanto???s transformation to unlock digital yield. The IT organization is focusing on creating the digital platforms to protect our business and accelerate our growth. The IT Finance Lead partners closely with Monsanto???s CIO and plays an integral role on the IT Leadership Team (ITLT) by assisting in strategic decision making and driving key funding decisions. This role analyzes new business opportunities and investments, values current business initiatives to maximize shareholder value, leads integration of new mergers or acquisitions and facilitates business changes which may come in the form of divestitures, funding partnerships and collaborations, joint ventures, reorganizations or site moves. In addition, this role is responsible for meeting all financial targets and processes related to long-range planning, annual budgets and monthly forecasts.This role must ensure that the Global IT organization is compliant with all policies and procedures through facilitation of audits, regular finance training and communication and coordination of policy changes. To do so requires leveraging and networking with teams in Tax, Strategy, Legal, External Reporting, Center of Excellence and Operations and Finance teams in other world regions.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Financial Analysis and Leadership:Serves as active member of IT leadership team in shaping the IT and digital strategy for Monsanto Evaluates the IT product/service/solution portfolio by financial modeling to maximize the portfolio value Partners to identify and value external opportunities to build and deliver IT solutions and provides oversight and leadership of new business opportunities such as mergers, acquisitions, collaborations, joint ventures, funding partnerships, reorganizationsResponsible for leading the financial strategy and operations needed for a $200m capital budget and $450m SGA expenditures Sets and leads all of the financial methodologies and processes needed to run IT effectively as a business operationSets the financial policies for IT spend, in line with Monsanto???s financial guidelines, including consolidated financials, capital expenditures, SG&A and operations Partners to create and deliver a strategy to develop the financial acumen and critical thinking of IT leaders Identifies and shares external best practices for leading the financial operations of a digital organization and the IT group Leads and develops team of decision analysts and matrix financial analysts Responsible for annual budget and long range plan (LRP), as well as managing actual spend against forecast/targets and development of contingency planningDevelops financial metrics, KPI???s, dashboards and models to drive business decisions and track performance against targetsEnsures compliance with US GAAP and Corporate Control policiesEnsures organizational effectiveness through financial transparency, timely and effective communication and collaborative actionEncourages adaptability by embracing and effectively leading the organization through times of strategic change and uncertaintyPartners with FP&A to deliver:consolidated financials, capital expenditures, SG&A and operationsfinancial targets and processes related to long-range planning, annual budgets and monthly forecastsactual spend in line with forecastscompliance with US GAAP and CCP???sProcess Improvement:In partnership with FP&A, identifies and implements improvements to monthly forecast process to improve accuracy and increase ease of useIn partnership with FP&A, streamlines budget process with corporate targets to avoid duplicative efforts while meeting deadlinesStreamlines the portfolio process by program to ensure an innovative and profitable mix across IT and the businessOversee process mapping and documentation for review of compliance and streamlining opportunitiesAnalyzes systems and new software opportunities to improve efficiencies and focus on value-added activitiesQualifications:Required skills/experience:Bachelor???s degree in Finance or Accounting 15+ years of finance/accounting work experienceStrong Excel skills with experience in financial modeling and analysisMust be a resourceful self-starter with proven leadership experienceMust have strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as proven ability to meet milestones and commitments with attention to detailMust be self-directed, organized and successful in influencing across teams/functions and driving consensus decision making across the matrixMust be able to adapt quickly, lead through changing business needs and respond well under pressureMust collaborate effectively with stakeholders, but also demonstrate courage and candor to make timely decisionsDesire to learn and lead a very technical businessDesired skills/experience:CPA, CMA or MBA preferredProficient in SAP, ARC Knowledge of corporate controllership policies and proceduresExperience leading budget/LRP processApply for this job.
