We are currently searching for a Finance Manager ? Cash Management, Credit and Collections to work in our Finance Team in Walnut Creek, CA.
Description of Job:
? Manage daily and monthly cash funding activities and settlements of the Valent Group Companies in North America, Mexico and Latin America. ? Collaborate with Senior Management and cross functional departments to manage Valent USA Marketing and Asset Management Programs. ? Manage the banking relationships for the Valent Group Companies and collaborate with the Treasury team at Sumitomo Chemical Company (parent Company). ? Preparation, maintenance of data, models and schedules relating to the cash flow forecasts including development of reliable cash flow projection process and reporting for the Valent Group Companies, including Latin America, Mexico and Canada. ? Continuously improve the forecast, reporting processes and systems, including data integrity ? Manage all credit, collections and cash application functions for the Valent Group companies ? Domestic and International which is in excess of $300 million. ? Collaborate with management, customer service, customers and other internal/external groups related to billing issues, reconciliation, aging of accounts receivable, cash flow from collections, risk evaluation, or terms extended. ? Prepare appropriate Board Materials. ? Design and implement process improvements to improve cash flow, minimize outstanding receivables and decrease DSO ? Domestic and International ? Evaluate credit review and collection processes to mitigate risk and report on potential exposure due to receivables issues. Design and implement credit decision models for new customers including credit limits and payment terms. ? Evaluate the credit policy and recommend changes as necessary to support sales growth and process improvements while limiting risk ? Domestic and International. ? Ensure compliance with all internal audit requirements and adherence to SOX controls. ? Manage alternative financing in collaboration with Senior Management when applicable such as factoring receivables and customer prepayments. ? Develop and manage foreign currency risk strategy on receivables and payables.
? Develop monthly and quarterly reports and metrics and review with key internal partners and management. ? Strong collaboration with business partners to monitor results and provide data and analysis with focus on key financial metrics. ? Effective working in a matrix environment, with multiple owners responsible to deliver data. ? Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work independently, perform ad hoc analysis. ? Identify areas for improvements in business processes and make changes with other departments. ? Interact with external and internal auditors regarding bad debts, receivable aging and revenue recognition. ? Manage one direct report and ability to influence other departments. ? Ad Hoc Analysis.
Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, Exceptional oral and written communication skills, Detail oriented, organized and budgets in an efficient productive manner with the ability to multitask, Intermediate to advance proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel; Word and PowerPoint), Excellent negotiations skills and ability to interface effectively with major customers., Solid understanding of accounting and credit performance drivers, underwriting and credit risk management best practices
Experience: 8 + years of demonstrated work experience, Experience with large ERP systems (SAP and JDE experience a plus)
Education: BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
Other: Travel ? 5% to 10%
