Financial Analyst – #01GQV
The Financial Analyst is a key business partner at the Monsanto Luling Plant. This position will provide costing analysis and financial support to production units and service areas within a large diverse chemical manufacturing plant. The role provides leadership in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance with corporate control policies. This is a unique opportunity to learn first-hand the chemical production and costing processes. In addition, the Financial Analyst has an important role in utilizing financial tools and modeling to drive cost effective business decisions.Specific Responsibilities of the Position: Prepares analysis, reports and recommendations to managementGenerates forecasts and analyzes trends in plant costsCreates financial models of what if scenarios for future business planning decisions such as new product development, raw material utilization, existing operations optimization, etc.Responsible for ensuring financial accuracy of plant reports Responsible for review and analysis of production- verifying production (and inventory), prices and yields with business teamsProvides financial analysis, modeling and recommendations to drive cost effective business decisions (i.e. higher production, favorable yields, expansion, optimization)Ensure compliance with financial controls (Sarbanes Oxley and corporate control policies), processes and procedures- as well as provide guidance and training to the plantParticipate in external and internal audits and SOX reviews.Responsible for reconciliation and optimization of inventoryLead plant annual budget and long-range planning Work with business teams to prepare and present financial results and opportunities with site leadership (specifically maintenance, capital, and quarterly business metrics reviews )Lead annual physical inventory counts, stores inventory cycle counts and fixed asset counts and reviewsUtilizes KPI???s along with data analysis to drive business objectives, optimization opportunities and operational excellence.Collaborate with STL teams in monthly closing processes, verifying costs, balance sheet reconciliations and understanding business processesLead and support initiatives to streamline processes and standardize procedures Qualifications:Qualifications for the Position:Bachelor???s degree in Accounting or Finance8+ years of finance or accounting experienceStrong Excel and Microsoft Office skillsAbility to build solid business relationships and strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across various levels of the organization (including plant leadership team)Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing business needsMust be a self-starter with proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and work effectively (and lead) in a team environmentMust have analytical and problem solving skills with proven ability to meet milestones/deadlinesMust be able to demonstrate courage and candor by providing timely and constructive feedback, challenging the status quo and focusing on process improvement opportunitiesTravel to STL may be required 1-2 times a yearIdeal Candidate Will Also Possess: Cost Accounting experienceKnowledge of SAPExperience with purchase to pay process (purchasing, payables), general ledger accounting or capital/project accountingMBA/CPAApply for this job.
