Finishing Farm Manager
Job DescriptionSummary: ?Responsibilities include total operation of a company finishing farm, including training/developing employees, implementing corporate personnel/procedural policies including but not limited to EMS, IPS, animal care, BMS, controlling operating costs, and providing an overall quality product to the farms customers.?Job Responsibilities include:Strict adherence to company bio-security procedures (BMS) and other company policies, including EMS, IPS, and animal care.Represents company production policy and procedures. ?Responsibilities include, but are not limited to monitoring farm performance to maximize productivity, communicating policy and procedures to farm employees.Ensures that the farm working environment is safe, by providing safety equipment, training, and actions to prevent hazardous conditions by meeting Smithfield Foods IPS standardsResponsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Smithfield Foods Hog Production subscribes.Develops subordinates by leading, planning (short and long term), managing, coaching, mentoring and providing a positive professional image at all timesEstablishes and maintains open communication with all farm staff, management, other departments, external customers and suppliers, refers all external communication to appropriate Smithfield Hog Production spokesperson to identify potential problems and initiate improvementsEnsures all equipment, machinery and vehicles are accounted for and properly maintained.Maintains production at acceptable levelsImplements and manages bio-security at the site using BMS manual to minimize risk of disease introduction.Responsible to ensure that all animals are managed in accordance with Smithfield Foods, Hog Production Animal Care Policy, and employees are trained and accountable to that standardEnsures that objectives, standards and initiatives of company are followed and carried out.Job requirements include:Bachelor's Degree in Business or Animal Science; or two to four years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Herdsperson Level 4 or above.Certified in FinishingAbility to communicate verbally in EnglishProven record of past good production performance.Excellent communication and organization skillsBasic maintenance experiencePrevious supervising experience preferred.Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record required.?Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans and Individuals with DisabilitiesApply for this job.
