First Line Production Supervisor
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily grain elevator facility operations and personnel to maximize efficiencies, operate within applicable government regulations and Cargill policy and assists in identifying and developing customer solutions and service.
40% – Plant Operation and Risk Management
? Supervise, lead and engage production team on a daily basis
? Plan and implement our Operational Excellence processes with the Operational staff to create a safe environment and effective use of the asset to achieve production goals
? Conduct regular plant inspections and assist in a variety of location specific audits
? Hold weekly safety meetings with staff to review procedures and safety awareness issues to ensure the Plant and yard are clean and safe for customers and employees
? Assist in management of all aspects of State/Federal Regulatory and Cargill compliance programs including: EH&S, Inventory, Control, Warehousing, Security, Housekeeping, Food Safety,Model Elevator etc.
20% – Operational Effectiveness
? Lead and perform physical operational duties and/or grain related tasks.
? Communicate and coordinate with the staff and central logistics to ensure efficient meshing of unloading and shipping????? programs and effective storage space management
20% – Talent Management
? Ensure optimum performance of staff through coaching, development, and training
? Assist with planning and scheduling of the operations staff to ensure staffing levels are appropriate to meet plant and customer needs, along with proper training and direction of contracted housekeeping staff.
20% – Capital Effectiveness and Reliability Excellence
? Organize and plan the facility reliability and maintenance activities within operating budget.
? Supervise onsite contractors that perform work at the location to meet safety and quality guidelines
? Ensure operations staff are trained to operate plant equipment efficiently and effectively

? 2+ years supervisory experience in a production/industrial environment?
? High school diploma or GED?
? Must be able and willing to work from heights (i.e. ladders, catwalks, etc.) and in an indoor/outdoor environment
? Experience managing an effective EHS program?
? Experience in a feed or manufacturing industry?
? Inventory management experience
? Must be able and willing to work flexible schedules (nights, weekends and holidays).
? Ability to create an environment conductive to teamwork, strong interpersonal skills
? Strong listening skills, written & verbal communication skills, adaptable?
? Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
? Proven problem solving and decision making skills
? Expectation to balance work schedules with other Supervisors to accommodate local business needs.
? Knowledge of government regulation
? 4 year post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
? Grain operations or personnel management experience preferred
? Capable of delivering innovation.
? Operating efficiency and expense management skills
? Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
