Food Safety Coordinator
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Processing and Food Ingredients Division. We are looking for a Food Safety Coordinator to provide leadership in the areas of Food Safety and Quality Assurance. You must develop consistent world class quality standards and oversee that these standards are implemented into our facility. You must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, have the ability to multi-task, problem solve, and have ability to work effectively in a broad range of environments.You will:Develop, administer, train and maintain applicable food safety policies and related standard operating procedures for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Knowledge of Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI), Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).Food Safety Inspections: Conduct inspections for GFSI (SQF, HACCP) and GMP programs, write and issue the reports to appropriate managers.
Monitor the reporting logs and corrective actions that are to be taken. On site at the plant, instructing warehouses to make sure food safety policies are followed thru with.Be responsible for monthly and GFSI (GMP, SQF and HACCP) internal audits, procedures, paperwork and inspections.Manage audits for vendors, wash facility, trailer, customers, and government. Conduct mock recalls as part of audit requirements.Assist sales with Certificates of Analysis, product information, questionnaires and samplesParticipates in and support plant and corporate initiatives including GFSI (GMP, SQF and HACCP)Lead and manage the development of food safety programs. Track the effectiveness of these programs including standards, training, and quality documentation.Interface with other functions to ensure that company business initiatives meet quality, regulatory and food safety standards.Monitor and update quality documents, procedures, work instructions, forms, raw material specifications, packaging, in-process products and finished products.Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Basic Qualifications: (required)Bachelor?s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology, or Chemistry5 years of experience to include:Food safety or quality assuranceWorking knowledge of and experience with external food safety audits such as GFSI (SQF, HACCP, GMP)Development, training or auditing of GFSI (SQF, HACCP, GMP) systemsWorking knowledge of Federal, State, and local food safety standardsProficient with Windows and MS Office SuitePreferred Qualifications: (desired)Experience in a soy processing facilityWet chemistry or microbiology laboratory experienceGFSI Practitioner CertificationSQF or HACCP Certification
