Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Manager ? Supplier & External Manufacturer
Cargill Protein is a leader at delivering primary processed and value added proteins into the Foodservice, Retail and Manufacturing market channels. This position is a key leadership position on the Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory team with responsibility to manage the implementation and maintenance of the S/EM Management program for Cargill Protein. This role will work with and provide direction to Cargill Protein BOSC team and direct reports regarding the management and approval status of Cargill Protein suppliers, external manufacturers and warehouses through technical support. This role will need to create an environment of high performance and continuous improvement. The role will be to ensure the FSQR team provides guidance to Cargill Protein with accurate and current information in order to make decisions and take appropriate level actions. In addition, this role will: ? Develop FSQR S/EM strategy and program execution across all Cargill Protein S/EM categories ? Actively manage one or more S/EM categories driving supplier or service results by instilling the need for a continuous improvement approach to performance ? Work cross functionally (including but not limited to Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Product Leads and FSQR operations) to achieve objectives of Cargill Protein ? Develop subject matter expertise across multiple Category Programs ? Create an engaging culture within the FSQR team which focuses on core values and guiding principles ? Support Cargill Protein FSQR team to execute objectives
Cargill Protein FSQR S/EM Strategy and Cross-Category Oversight – 10%? Work with Procurement and Strategic Sourcing to develop and execute supplier segmentation to identify strategic suppliers ? Working with S/EM Category Leads, develop common approach across Cargill Protein Group in management of suppliers, external manufacturers and warehouses ? Manage and maintain the Cargill Protein S/EM program ? Lead or facilitate the development of training materials that support programs ? Working with category leads, determine approval status of Cargill Protein suppliers, external manufacturers and warehouses
Active management of Cargill Protein FSQR S/EM Categories – 45%? Manage and maintain the Category S/EM Programs, SOPs and training materials ? Create a culture of relationship management in order to develop stronger relationships with category suppliers ? Utilize score carding to provide feedback and focus areas to the category in order to improve supply or service performance ? Audit existing or proposed category suppliers to assure conformance to requirements of the S/EM program audit category suppliers and provide follow-up as needed ? Determine approval status of category
?Performance Management – 40%? Manage the performance and development of team to ensure execution of required objectives
Cross-FSQR Coordination – 5%? Work within FSQR Food Safety and Data Management Systems as well as broader FSQR organization to deliver the functional goals to support the execution of the strategy Skills:
? Bachelor?s Degree or higher?in technical field (i.e. science or technology related) ? 8+ years? experience working with a manufacturing environment ? Knowledge of USDA or CFIA requirements ? Able to rethink and improve business for continued growth. Able to prioritize activities. ? Capable of influencing others to provide leadership and commitment to change ? Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office software (MS Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel), Cloud based systems Preferred Qualifications
? Experience in multiple food industry fields ? Experience in building, creating, and managing Supply Quality Assurance programs. ? ASQ Quality Auditor Certification or ability to become certified. ? Leadership experience in Technical Services, i.e., Quality, Food Safety, Auditing, IT, etc.
