CRM has high growth objectives and operates in a fast paced, dynamic, highly innovative, and engaged business environment.The Finance leader for Cargill Risk Management (CRM) will focus on activities that are value-creation focused and forward looking across Finance domains.? Will include analyzing data to provide insight, focus on top line growth, and ways to continue to optimize the P&L, Balance Sheet, Working Capital, and SG&A. By relying on the Accounting & Finance organization to produce accurate and timely financial and management reports, this position provides analysis and insight on the direction the business should go. Proactively challenges the status quo and is continually engaged across the business group in driving growth plans. This role will have a critical seat at the leadership table to influence on strategy and business operations. Successful team member will strategically engage in stakeholder management, be knowledgeable about the business, its economics, capabilities and activities and can establish appropriate metrics, measure, monitor and report on those desired outcomes whether they are strategic or tactical in nature.
?This critical role will be the Finance interface to the business. Relates to others with candor, openness, and transparency; Approaches work with a global perspective; Builds trust across multiple stakeholder groups.? Principal Accountabilities60% Business Partnership and Finance LeadershipAdvises and provides financial leadership to the business group and is active leadership team memberIdentifies new metrics (i.e. KPIs) to drive performance relative to strategic priorities. Enhance scenario planning analysis for strategic planning activities.Create and drive value within business (stretch targets). Measured by profit improvement (wider margins), lower cost and driving performance. Focus management on most critical risks and opportunities.Thoroughly understands how to win in our markets and actions necessary to achieve this. Demonstrates an application of broad/diverse commercial knowledge with understanding of how all areas come together and operate as a business.Supports the business with new business activities and issues resolution, business transactions (including JVs or potential partnerships), tax and customs issues, monitoring the performance of the new acquired business etc. and liaising with legal and other cross-functional departments as necessary. Understands, translates, and provides insight into business performance against competitor & industry trends. Ability to connect the dots.Deliver clear presentations including defending positions on controversial topics, adapt style to continuously seek ?win win? solutions. Partner closely and leverage the Accounting and Finance teams, operations,and risk ?for key information points including historical reporting and data collection. Leadership and measurement that the flow through of transactions and impact to financials within expectations and risk threshholds.? Monitors and controls interdependencies within the business. Regularly measures and monitors progress to identify variances from the plan and make needed corrections (May include activities related to margin reporting, analysis of data and management reports, activity based costing or cost allocation to products and customers, management reports generation, etc. )Provide broad knowledge of and connect with right relationships with COE partners for areas such as Tax, Treasury, and Audit. Accountable for centralizing all issues, identifying those responsible to solve problems and issues related to business operations, determines best practices, and suggests new alternatives to current practices using thorough knowledge of principals, theories, concepts, and techniques.Ensure business is in compliance with tax, regulatory and legal issues.? Ensure the business has knowledge of all futures exchange rules relating to limits, settlement and clearing issues and provides proactive compliance advice to business management. Ensure controls are in place for all reported financial information and operational processesSupport commercial teams with customer new business activity and issue resolution30% ???Strategic Planning & ImplementationProvides financial and change leadership by actively leading in high level business strategy planning. Provides necessary support to accomplish plans/strategy.Provides leadership and direction to the creation and evolution of strategic plans to achieve the established financial targets and market objectives of the Cargill Risk Management business.Contribute to the development of strategic objectives and execution plans to grow the business, improve its competitiveness, and raise its profitability including pricing strategy. Define and review fact based analysis to the different Sales, Trading and Function heads responsible for analysis of strategic options and development of plans.Take active leadership coordinating Business and other Cargill resources to continue external benchmarking and further develop horizon 2 and 3 strategic requirements, as required10%?? CommunicationWill act as a
spokesperson on the progress of the strategic initiatives with the CRM
Business leader and members of the Leadership team as well as members and
other stakeholders within Cargill, Commidity Risk Committee, Financial
Risk Committee, external regulators etc.Partners closely with
COE and the cross-business/functional senior managers to play an active
role in enhancing connectivity and communicationAble to drive the
behavior, results or agenda needed for the business. Has a point of view
and communicates it effectively thus influencing colleagues by supporting
them, challenging them, providing unique perspective and delivering value.Skills:
Required?Bachelor?s Degree in Finance or other Business related degreeMinimum of 10 years relevant business experience, preferably trading and/or financial knowledgeEnglis
