SUMMARYThis position is responsible for removing foreignmaterial from the finished product and reacting to sudden quality changes, toensure finished product quality meets the acceptable quality levels required bycustomers and the division. The Frozen Inspector is a member of the qualityassurance team, which consists of Lab Technicians, Lab Clerks, Bacteriology LabTechs, Frozen Inspectors, and Quality Assurance Team Leaders. The individual inthis position is accountable to the Shift Manager, QA Supervisor, PackagingSupervisor, QA Team Leader, and Packaging Team Leader.The individual in this position will be required to fully understand thepurpose and operation of the frozen inspection area along with having theability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates. Itis imperative the Frozen Inspector conducts oneself in a manner that ensuresalertness and constant awareness of the safe operation of equipment and itssurroundings.The individual in this position will accomplish these tasks by utilizing a teamconcept through working with team members and following directions andinstructions from a team Leader or coordinator.Positive work relationships and written and verbal communications are keyingredients for success of the individual holding this position. Overtime requirements in this position are common and may be required to meetoperational goals. RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures the ability to understand all foreignmaterial procedures and identify foreign material. Ensures the ability toproperly inspect the frozen product, remove and appropriately dispose of anyforeign material or product that does not meet the customers expectations, andcommunicate such situations to the appropriate personnel.
Ensures that the work area is maintained cleanand orderly by sweeping and throwing away non-hazardous product as necessary.
Ensures the ability to properly sanitize PPEused for inspecting the product and follows the Personal Health, Hygiene andSanitation Policies and Procedures outlined in the JR Simplot Plant Policiesand Procedures.
Ensures the Shift Manager, QA Team Leader,Packaging Team Leader, Mechanics and other employees are notified of lineconditions. Performs some stripping duties.
Ensures that attendance and participation intraining activities are appropriate for the position and the acquired skillsand knowledge are applied.
Ensures there is no injury to self or othersby following safe work practices, procedures (including Standard OperatingProcedures), and policies.
Ensures self-compliance with Company policies,Standard Operating Procedures, and the Union Labor Agreement.
Ensures that the interaction with team membersand other support groups is conducted in a participative management styleconducive with operational goals.
Conducts oneself in a professional manner byensuring confidentiality regarding sensitive issues and ensuring thatappearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function whilerepresenting the company.Additional KeyActivities: Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required bymanagement, are handled in a manner necessary to meet operational anddivisional standards.Disclaimer – The above statements are intended to describe thegeneral nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to thisclassification.

Must be able to workin extreme environments: hot or cold temperatures and wet and slick floors. Must be able to liftup to 10lbs in a safe and proper manner.
