Job DescriptionGDU Manager – BSF (Mercer County) E07DESCRIPTION-Chosen candidate will be responsible for directing operations of the farm and employees.Maintain unit bio-security.Heat check gilts using boars and visual appraisal.Achieve Heat No Service Targets and associated breeding targetsMaintain accurate records.Assist in moving animals and maintaining efficient animal flows.Feed, water, vaccinate, and perform general animal husbandry tasks including basic veterinary procedures.Treat sick animals with a variety of pharmaceuticals by injection, oral application, and/or other methods as required.Follow the Standard Operating Procedures.Move Boars, ?Gilts, and Piglets in a proper mannerAssist with facility and equipment maintenance.Assist with maintaining barn, office cleanliness, and laundry duties.Operate high pressure washing equipmentPerform any other tasks necessary for the care of in a swine facility.Follow Murphy-Brown of Missouri animal welfare policies and procedures including providing a physical environment that meets the animal's needs, providing access to adequate water and high quality feed, providing humane treatment of the animals, providing identification and appropriate treatment of animals in need of health care and following the guidelines for euthanasia as outlined in the NPB publication, “On Farm Euthanasia of Swine – Options for the Producer”.Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Murphy-Brown of Missouri subscribes.Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.Read and understand the company's emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site.Responsible for understanding all safety requirements of the job and for performing the job in compliance with the safety requirements.All other duties as assigned.Train and evaluate employees on the maintenance of facilities, attendance and handling of livestock.Recommend measures to improve production methods, efficiencies and performance.Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary actions.Monitoring supplies && materials within budget.Interpret company policy and specifications to employees and enforces safety regulations.?QUALIFICATIONS-Basic math and computer literacy is required with efficient communication, supervisory, and organizational skills a must.
