General Manager: Job Description Job SummaryManages all activities of the organization. Reports to the board of directors. Essential DutiesInforms customers of products and services supplied by IDO Feed & Supply.Details products and services to customer.Reports on new products and services desired by customers.Reports competitive prices and services.Develops sales schemes in coordination with staff to maintain business and earn new business.Develops new customer contacts, follow-up with potential customers, maintains current customers, and prepares related information to further sales growth.Encourages members to purchase from IDO Feed & Supply and to actively participate in their company.Seeks new methods for gaining new sales and acquiring new customers.Responsible for keeping accounts receivable within the board of director’s criteria.Responsible for profitable financial results.Responsible for hiring and managing employees. Perform other duties as assigned.Responsible for informing the board of directors of IDO activities and results. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE – Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Minimum 2 years executive management or 10 years middle management in a field related to IDO’s business. LANGUAGE SKILLS – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
