?COMPANY: Cissna Park Co-opHIRING MANAGER: Terry KaebLOCATION: Ciaana Park, IL?Job Summary:The Grain Elevator General Manager is responsible for managing the business activities of the elevator including supervision of employees, oversight of grain and feed storage, shipping and purchasing, and P&L responsibility of the facility with control of origination, merchandising, logistics, accounting, operations, safety and compliance.?Responsibilities include:Responsible for all business activities of the elevator? including grain merchandisingSupervise, lead, and develop assigned employeesProvide professional customer service resulting in increased sales and grain originationMaintain consistent communication and transparency with the board of directors regarding business matters and financials while ensuring segregation of duties and oversightTrain assigned employees to meet state, federal, and company regulatory and safety criteriaAssure the company is well represented via personal contact, website, social media, etcImplements grain pricing, considering sample and inspection grade on all incoming and outgoing grain shipmentsEnsures service charge levels are maintainedAssists with development and implementation of grain origination and marketing plansResponsible for compliance with OSHA; state; and federal safety regulations and maintenance and professional appearance of equipment, rolling stock, and facilitiesStays current and informed on industry trends, competitive practices, and regulatory complianceOversight of? grain handling? and grain quality including incoming, stored, and outgoing grainSearch for, and bring before the board, opportunities and ideas that may increase profitability or improve the company?Experience / Education / Competencies Necessary for Success:Bachelor?s Degree in Ag Business, Ag Economics or Business ManagementMinimum of two years of merchandising experienceExperience in grain or feed industry along with general understanding of the operations of a facility strongly preferredStrong customer service mentalityAbility to effectively motivate and lead a teamMust have the desire and ability to increase grain origination and sales of services and productsExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsStrong problem solving ability and self-starter attitudeMust be willing and able to work extended hours as required during harvest or shipment periods?Apply for this job.
