Reporting to the Vice President of Nitrogen Operations the Kennewick General Manager is responsible for the overall safe, cost competitive and environmentally conscious operation of the complex located in Kennewick, WA. The responsibilities include the safety of the 75 employees plus contractors and the reliable operations of the nitric acid plant and downstream processes. The General Manager is accountable for developing and implementing the site’s strategic, cost, and operational goals, as well as developing the skills and talents to lead the site to success. Key Tasks:Promote a positive safety culture and a collaborative workplace at the siteAdherence to SHE, Process Safety, and other regulatory standards and requirements.Prepare and steward to annual operating and capital budgetsOversee plant operations to ensure timely delivery of quality productsMonitor operational and financial results versus plan and ensure appropriate reporting of the results, as well as identifying issues that could impact goal attainmentProvide oversight into the development of and implement operational and maintenance control systems and procedures to ensure ongoing competitiveness and efficiency of the operation.Ensure the successful execution of major turnaround activitiesOversee hiring, performance management, development and motivation of all employees within the facilityParticipate in Business Unit or Corporate initiatives, as requestedEstablish and maintain productive community, industry and political relations, which will enhance Nutrien’s ability to grow and prosper;Skills:Track record of delivering projects, analysis and recommendations that have advanced a company’s strategy and growth.Demonstrable experience transforming strategy into an actionable plan that delivers measurable business results.Essential Qualifications:Engineering degree or equivalent experience.15 years of experience, 5 years of leadershipExperience in manufacturing facilities, fertilizer and nitric acid experiencePreferred Qualifications:Self-starter, able to work with little direct oversightWork well in face-paced team environmentPossess problem solving, trouble shooting, and diagnostic skillsComputer skills including MS programsNutrien is committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
