The regional asset portfolio is comprised of company owned, leased, and/or production partner units. Create and execute strategies within the business unit to achieve the company?s vision and mission. Ensure a culture that fosters trust, empowers its people, and rewards them for industry leading performance.??Job Duties & Accountabilities ? ???Typical Duties of General Manager, Production Operations include:?Develop, educate, and execute operating goals, budgets, and capital deployment plan for a farrow to finish operation with up to 60,000 sows and $300 Million in gross sales.Authority to design and manage a growing asset base comprised of both company owned and production partner units including sow farms, nurseries, wean to market, and feeder to market sites.Collaborate with other pork business leaders in fiscal decision making that impact the company?s profitability.Build productive partnerships with other pork business leaders leveraging their technical expertise and improve profitability of the region and company.Define and manage a regional human capital strategy including hiring and staffing, compensation, and employee development programs. ?Responsible for animal health and flow strategies for a commercial production system including oversight of a regional Veterinarian and logistics support personnel.Ensure regional operations are conducted in a manner that keeps our people safe, protects the well-being of our animals, safeguards the environment, maintains regulatory compliance, and adheres to company governance.Collaborate and closely align with other regions and departments to consistently and effectively meet or exceed customer expectations to include specialty products.?Minimum Qualifications ? ? ? ? ? ??Education ? ? ???Bachelor of Science degree in animal science, farm management, agriculture, business administration, or related field is preferred. ?Equivalent experience may substitute for degree. ??? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ??Experience ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?A minimum of 10 years of experience within the genetics and/or animal breeding profession and demonstrated management ability are required.???Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ? ??1) Knowledge of:Animal science as applied in modern pig production systemsBusiness and financial key performance indicators in pig productionQuality Management Systems and Process VerificationCompany vision and strategyCustomer expectations?2) Skill in:Learning agility, dealing with ambiguity, and adaptation to a rapidly changing business environmentOrganization, planning, priority setting, and complex project managementUsing computer software tools such as Microsoft Outlook, CRM, and SharepointWritten and verbal communication?3) Ability to:Lead, develop, coach and motivate othersRead financial statements and production operating reportsAnalyze complex business problems and make timely, high quality business decisionsDistill complex vision into simple strategy to execute in the fieldThink strategically about pig production issues and policyApply for this job.
