In addition, Zoetis will never ask candidates to make any type of personal financial investment related to gaining employment with Zoetis.Role Description:A successful candidate will be able to manage and organize large genomic evaluation data sets including genotypes, phenotypes and pedigree and assist in the execution of the genetic evaluation pipeline. Be able to work with cross-functional teams consisting of scientists and computer technologists, to understand the commercial objectives and translate the requisite data management functions into requirements for support, testing, and implementation of the evaluation. Must be able to work with business stakeholders (internal and external) to provide support of production environments and product pipelines. Requires experience in manipulation of large, and sometimes complex, datasets. Expertise in database design, optimization, querying, and life cycle management will be critical. Must be able to work effectively in a dynamic work environment managing and prioritizing multiple concurrent requests. The successful candidate is able to balance the need for collaboration with independent effort to ensure timely delivery of business needs. Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Provide support for and be able to execute genetic evaluation systems to support the translation of genomic, phenotypic and pedigree data into consolidated outcomes for Zoetis customers. * Provide data management for genetic evaluation information systems. * Perform quality checks on available data to ensure completeness and internal consistency. * Actively manage pending requests and reprioritization of support request in queue in consultation with department-level and business leadership as business needs evolve globally. * Work and coordinate with the genetic evaluation team and technical teams in resolving issues that may impact delivery of results and execution of the pipeline. Qualifications:
* Bachelor”s degree in Animal Science, Information Science, Genetics, or related field. Masters preferred. * 1+ years Genetic Evaluation data management experience, specifically in cattle data. * Excellent data management skills including use of common software (e.g., MS Excel, MS Access and SQL) * Ability to use statistical software (R, SAS, etc.). * Ability to organize and manage large amounts of data including normalizing and defining standards for pipeline purposes. * Strong communication skills enabling interactions with a very broad range of stakeholders ranging from those with little knowledge of genetics, evaluations and data management though to those that may have significant knowledge of the business. * Ability to work across time zones in support of global business units. * Organized and dependable with high level of accountability. * Works effectively and collaboratively in a team environment; comfortable making constructive contributions in settings with diverse personalities and technical levels. * Using initiative and taking ownership in proactively working to ensure complete and high quality deliverables. * Comfortable in a rapidly changing environment. * Self-motivated and able to work independently to progress assigned and emergent tasks to completion with minimal oversight.Demonstrated commitment to achieving objectives in a manner that is supportive of Zoetis values.
