Geospatial Analytics Spring Co-op – #01D35

We are seeking a talented individual with a passion for innovation to join our Environment & Spatial Analytics team within the Plant Breeding Organization. The position will be based in St. Louis at our corporate headquarters. Responsibilities include the development of methodologies to model crop disease risk and characterize genotype by environment interactions. The candidate will conduct a research project to quantify in-season disease risk and spatial distribution for major corn/soybean diseases. As part of our diverse, highly dynamic group, the successful candidate will be exposed to exciting research challenges and will have ample opportunity to work with interdisciplinary scientists to foster career growth and development while delivering innovative solutions. Dates for this Spring Co-op are January 2 – June 16 of 2017.Qualifications:Required:Currently enrolled at a university within the U.S., pursuing a Ph.D. program in Plant Pathology or Agronomy with strong background in Statistics and Analytics; or pursuing Ph.D. in Statistics, Geo-informatics or Mathematics with experience in Agriculture Proficiency with either Python or R Detail and results-orientation with the ability to work independently Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong organizational, interpersonal, and proven problem solving abilities Preferred:Experience in plant disease epidemiologyApply for this job.
