Description.The Category Manager Aqua is responsible for developing marketing plans for global offerings, leading key projects and developing new ideas, concepts and approaches to help our commercial and retail sales teams meet the needs of our demanding aquaculture customers. You will provide marketing expertise for the species portfolio and contribute to the success of the business strategy for Cargill Aqua Nutrition (CQN).You will be reporting to the Strategic Marketing Director Aqua.?Major Tasks.Analysis, Planning and Strategy:? Monitor the competitive landscape and industry trends that influence the animal nutrition industry.
Analyze key data relating to the customer, competition and markets, seeking opportunities for CQN and making recommendations for action. ?
Defining/updating the strategic initiatives for the global, regional and/or Business Units strategy.?
Developing strategic marketing plans for key global offerings, including a full description of the 7Ps: People, Positioning, Product/Service, Place, Packaging, Price and Promotion. ?Influencing and Measuring: ? Lead marketing projects through applying CANs Customer Focused Development approach and translate strategy into actions by helping develop capabilities that are critical for long-term business success. ?
Develop new offerings, and coordinate teams (e.g. Technology, R&D, Marketing, RMS) to develop products and services identified in the strategy.
Measure business effectiveness by using organizational and analytical skills to establish success criteria, metrics and tracking systems. ?
Influence managing directors and group directors in multiple countries to implement projects locally and tie the financial results to the project.?
Support local marketing teams to drive penetration and recover value from offerings in the marketCollaboration:? Collaborate with supplier/external partners to achieve results.?
Collaborate with other marketing leaders through CAN SMT and across Cargill.?Skills:
Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in an aquaculture and business discipline or equivalent experience.?
Masters level study preferred
7+ years of business experience and 3+ years in strategic marketing.
Demonstrated experience leading high performing teams and the ability to lead change?
Proven performance that demonstrates high accountability, strong initiative, with a sense-of-urgency and an entrepreneurial approach.
Excellent strategic marketing, decision-making and project management skills.
Understands how to develop and bring creative innovation to market.
Solid interpersonal skills; being effective in listening, verbal, and written communication.?
Experience in go-to-market, including leading projects, managing resources, preparing introductions, and measuring results.
Experience with finances, including managing budgets and business decision metrics.
Relationship builder, team player, willing to share and utilize knowledge
Known for his/her ability to deliver as promised and with high integrity and quality
Exceptional drive and energy
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
Willingness to travel at least 25% across international locations
