The Global Portfolio Manager leads a team of Global Product Managers responsible for the strategic management of the FMC Herbicide Portfolio, integrating critical strategic aspects including development, regulatory, production, supply and marketing, to achieve successful commercialization and life-cycle management of customer-focused offerings. The Global Portfolio Manager interacts with global, regional, and key country leadership and participates in the key business planning and product innovation processes, leading to the development and implementation of an integrated Herbicide Portfolio strategic growth plan. Ideally, this position is located at The Tower in Philadelphia, PA but considerations may be given to other locations, e.g. Toronto, Canada.ResponsibilitiesDevelops, leads and inspires a team of high-performing Global Product Managers supporting the growth of the Herbicide Portfolio.Drives and supports the optimization of the financial performance of the Herbicide Portfolio including profitability of formulations and brands. Lead development of pricing strategies with global/regional marketing and sales to optimize the overall value of the portfolio.Serves as the first point of contact regarding any issues related to the overall Herbicide Portfolio and any specifically-assigned products and has a high-level knowledge of commercial, regulatory, supply chain and development matters for the portfolio.Ensures the successful operation of Global Product Manager-led cross-functional product teams (comprised of Regional marketing, sales, operations, R&D, legal, etc.) to develop and implement global product strategies that are aligned with stakeholders and plans for the 5-year horizon.Strategies will encompass marketing initiatives, new product launches, life cycle management, product positioning vis-à-vis competitors, price strategies, trademarks, patents and intellectual property strategies. Integrates global product strategies into an aligned strategic portfolio growth plan that includes milestones and metrics. Works with stakeholders (Global Leadership, Regions, sub-regions and country teams) to align on plan components and execution.Ensures timely inputs are provided to operations and supply chain to proactively plan capacity, strategic sourcing and cost optimization for products in the Herbicide Portfolio.Identifies portfolio synergy and optimization opportunities and keeps portfolio focus aligned with strategic company imperatives.Participates in or leads discussions with third parties as they relate to access or sale of products and actives to support the business strategy.Provides inputs to R&D for development of new Herbicide Portfolio products that are aligned with customers future needs.Collaborates and assists in defining the Herbicide Portfolio stewardship and sustainability strategy and provides support to regulatory efforts as it relates to the portfolio and any assigned products. Contributes marketing leadership to the GSM team and to the broader FMC Marketing community.Required EducationB.S. / B.A. degree in marketing, business management or agronomy required with at least 15 years of experience or MBA / M.S. degree with at least 10 years of experienceQualifications15 or more years of experience in crop protection-related global or regional business, including experience with launching new active ingredientsExperience in balancing a wide diversity of needs/activities to create the most profitable balance between costs, revenue and cash.Experience in applying understanding of fundamental financial principles as they relate to pricing, asset management, new product introduction and other strategic product management responsibilities.Experience in analyzing and understanding multiple influences on asset profitability along with actions to improve.Experience in applying understanding of customers current and future needs to develop value propositions that appeal to targeted customers.In-depth knowledge of the interrelatedness of commercial, regulatory, supply chain and development matters for crop protection products.Experience in developing and implementing a strategic and market plan over a 5-year planning cycle.Experience in applying the understanding of external competitive threats, changing regulatory dynamics, new disruptive technologies on asset profitability to translate market intelligence into decisive actions to drive business directional changes.Basic scientific understanding of familiarity of crop protection productsProficient in basic computer programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience in leading and influencing directly and through others a cross functional team/independent work groups in a variety of roles and geographies.Demonstrated strong personnel management skills resulting in high-performing teamsExperience with working with people from different cultures and backgrounds.Established networking capability to develop productive internal and external collaborations.Strong track record of synthesizing complex information from diverse sources into understandable, clear, effective communication to diverse audience.Demonstrated ability to communicate to all stakeholders the tradeoffs between customer needs and profitable selling.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%.EEO StatementAt FMC, diversity and inclusion are in our DNA.
