Market/SalesDevelops and executes the Product Line Strategy for Pet Food and Soy Fiber to assure the product lines are competitively positioned. This includes analysing product line profitability, approving product line additions and deciding product line deletions, as well as sponsoring new product development projects with R&D.Understands markets, applications and uses of the products in enough detail to make product line decisions.Manage customer relations and sales in North America for Key Pet Food customers.Understands raw material impacts and the drivers of raw material costs. During times of volatility, makes decisions on strategic price moves for the product line.Understands the competitive environment including “in kind” and “near in kind” offerings. This includes costs, performance, positioning and strategiesTakes a broad strategic view of the market to understand likely competitor scenarios and proactively develops DuPont response.Establishes strategic pricing plans for the product lines including floor and target prices by product/market.Decides product allocation plans during times of shortage, considering both short and longer term factors.Provides guidance to the Regional Product Managers to assure product strategies are executed in the Regions.Works cross functionally with Marketing, Sales, Sourcing, Research & Development, Finance, Supply Chain and Operations to assure alignment of product and functional plans.Serves as overall Product Steward for the assigned products and assures Product Stewardship activities are completed as needed.Define the global and regional price and margin policy by product and ensure implementation of pricing architecture.Liaison with Regulatory where relevant.Participate in Product Launches with Marketing and Regional Product Managers. Build and maintain competitive intelligence (companies, product comparisons, technology etc.).OperationsThrough the help of amongst others the Global PLM, the OBL will lead the translation of the product strategy plans into strategic Supply Chain plans.Through the help of amongst others the Global PLM and Procurement, the OBL´s will optimize the end-to-end supply chain including strategic raw materials and other raw materials purchases.The Global PLM will actively work together with the OBL to fulfil cost targets set by the PS leadership team, the Supply Chain Organisation and/or the Management Team in N&H.Assist and oversee the Co-Product and downgraded inventory sales to maximize profit and manage inventory control to targets.DIBMThe Global Product Manager is together with BU leaders and Regional PLMs responsible for step 1 (Product Review) in the DIBM process. Step 1 has the following main contents: Revise and update the product strategy (with relevance for the medium/long term demand /supply planning.)Give relevant input regarding new product launches or new marketing campaigns which can influence demand/supply.Provide analysis of the competition/market place or customers/consumers which in the medium/long term may affect the demand/supply situation.Annual review (or if market conditions change) by relevant BU/Product-line with the purpose to decide how best to optimize return on Investment from Plant Assets. InnovationLiaison with product R&D team to support definition of innovation projects, priorities and resource needs, IP and key deliverables to support overall product strategy.Challenge innovation pipeline (kill or reshuffle projects when needed), participates in Steering Committees and be the key stake-holder for selective Innovation projects.Communication and ReportingMonthly reporting on financial performance, main market & competitive activities and outlook.Reporting on regular Estimates, Budgets and 5 Year Strategy numbers. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, such as chemical engineering, food chemistry, animal nutrition etc and/or in a business field. Master’s degree, such as an MBA, preferred. Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in the animal nutrition, food ingredient industry or related specialty chemical industry. Strong Business AcumenAbility to evaluate competitive intelligence, market and customer conditions and understanding of your business differentiation factors to develop the insight required to craft and continuously adjust the product strategy.
