Overview:The Global Research & Strategy Manager is a member of Monsanto???s Global Insights & Research team within Monsanto???s Global Corporate Engagement organization. This position is responsible for leading global market research planning and implementation, as well as building the organization???s strategic research and insights capabilities to drive continuous improvement in the Corporate Engagement organization. This position will work with members of the Global Insights & Research team as well as other key internal functions to drive continuous improvement in the company???s strategies ??? including but not limited to its global communications & marketing as well as stakeholder engagement strategies ??? as well as its supporting its global metrics reporting.   Global Market Research: The Manager will be responsible for identifying needs, leading, analyzing, interpreting and communicating the results of research efforts. This includes: Developing annual research agendas and leading the execution within budget parameters ??? including working with company vendors and internal stakeholders to drive the design and implementation of quantitative and qualitative studies for key business projects, as well as timely benchmark tracking studies.Partnering and consulting with internal clients in determining data needs and objectives, and recommend marketing research methodologies that meet these needs.    Developing and reporting on business-relevant conclusions from these research studies ??? including providing thoughtful analysis, interpretation and reporting for key stakeholders.Ensuring that conclusions are effectively communicated to key internal audiences as well as support improvements in business-related strategies ??? including through the education and training programs for the organization.  Serving as the key organizational liaison for key internal and external stakeholders that are also conducting critical business or industry research.Driving continuous improvement in company research by staying current on market research methodologies, best practices and innovation, as well as by exploring new approaches to methodologies, analyses, reporting.Global Insights: The Manager will partner with key internal leaders and then mine data sources and research to ensure that findings are turned into actionable insights to improve broader strategic planning across the organization. This includes: Working with various functional groups to understand key annual objectives as well as influencing factors and/or issues in the broader market place.  Identifying and mining existing surveys, research studies and other relevant data / data sources on a regular basis.  Providing timely, fact-based, insightful analysis and reports to improve the company???s global communications & marketing as well as stakeholder engagement strategies.  Analyzing international, national and regional trends around key areas of interest for the business and provide consultation to key internal stakeholders based on these insights.Identifying key vendors, tools and systems to ensure the organization???s insights capabilities remain best in class. Global Metrics Reporting The Manager will support the central collection and reporting of key metrics for the company???s Corporate Engagement organization and its strategic imperatives. This includes: Maintaining a standardized approach for collecting, tracking and reporting on the performance against key company KPIs on routine intervals. Driving continuous improvement in company metrics reporting by staying current on best practices, methodologies, analyses and reporting.Qualifications:Requirements:Minimum of 5 years applicable experience in market research, communications and/or marketing field. Experience within the agriculture industry is a plus.Minimum of Bachelor???s degree in relevant field ??? market research, communications, agriculture or related area. Demonstrated success in managing research projects, vendors and clients. This includes experience designing and leveraging qualitative and quantitative research, which has lead to breakthroughs in strategic execution Excellent analytical skills. Able to draw strong and pertinent connections from research, data and consumer trends, and synthesize into insights and actionable recommendations Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills. This includes experience presenting findings to internal and/or external clients. Outstanding project management skills (planning the work and working the plan to ensure deadlines are met).Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors ??? with track-record of building trust and credibility through relationshipsResults orientation: works with a sense of urgency, identifies and overcomes obstacles, takes necessary risks. Balances day-to-day activities with strategic imperatives.Problem solving and decisiveness: Makes sound, timely decisions applying relevant information and insights considering multiple factors before identifying solutions. Demonstrates good judgment and confidence to select appropriate approach.
