Monsanto???s Global Supply Chain Procurement organization is looking for a Global Seed Production Services Seed Treatment Category Lead. This position is responsible for developing and implementing short, mid, and long term strategies to optimize Monsanto???s Global Row Crops, Vegetables, and Technology Seed Production Services requirements and managing the Global procurement of Seed Treatments. The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders to enhance and harmonize sourcing tools and processes for field services and field input requirements as well as develop/source next generation seed treatment products in conjunction with Regional Hub Seed Manufacturing, Commercial Operations, Technology, TD, Regulatory, Finance, Treasury, Legal, and Global Product Management teams. Key objectives within this role include developing/implementing effective cost reduction strategies fully leveraging Monsanto???s scale, scope, and seed footprint and delivering year-over-year productivity improvements in TCO while maintaining or improving supplier product quality, value, and service levels. This position will be responsible for approximately $400 Million in annual spend and will report directly to the Global Seed Production Services Lead. This role is located in St. Louis, MO. Key Responsibilities:Collaboratively manage and optimize $400 million in spend directly related to Seed Production Services and Seed Treatment chemical requirements while continuing to insure production of the industries highest quality seed and further enhancing existing supplier/partner relationships.Work closely with and indirectly manage SPS and Seed Treatment Senior Buyers.Engage multinational and mid-tier chemistry/biological suppliers to procure novel, high-performance active ingredients to address evolving global pest & disease pressures on crops of interest.Work with Global and Regional Hub stakeholders as well as legal and regulatory functions to ensure contracts are negotiated and signed in accordance with existing policies and procedures.Liaise with local procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure product supply, forecasting and delivery schedules align with contractual obligations.Participate on alliance management teams (AMTs) in pursuit of new product development partnership opportunities.Ensure organizational coordination and alignment of supplier sourcing strategies with Global and Regional Hub Supply Chain, Commercial, Technology, Finance, and Legal, teams..Participate in cross-functional launch teams for key seed treatment product launches.Develop and implement raw material sourcing strategies in support of Monsanto???s BioDirect??? and BioAg??? platforms.Work with the strategic sourcing and operations purchasing teams to streamline and improve sourcing processes.Contribute to a global cost savings goal of $1 billion dollars to be delivered by 2020.Track forecasted vs actual savings for the Seed Production Services and Seed Treatment spend areas and be responsible for communicating performance against these measures and their potential budgetary impact.Develop and implement commodity strategies and establish and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure successful implementation and support. Drive compliance to supply chain/commodity strategies and supply base consolidation.Manage supplier development/relationships to ensure continuity of goods and services that meet quality, service and price performance standards of the company.Develop negotiation strategies and drive negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives.Drive improvement of procurement efficiency and effectiveness throughout Monsanto.Understand market aspects of assigned categories on a regional basis.
