Grain Division Manager
CHS Aligned Solutions is partnering with a member cooperative in Southwestern Iowa to hire an individual to lead the Grain Department and act as a Senior Grain Merchandiser. This position will report directly into the CEO and will have the opportunity to build structure and a grain team to best serve the cooperative’s mission and goals. This position is located in rural Southwestern Iowa near Atlantic, Iowa. Company Overview: This cooperative is considered a mid-sized cooperative with five branch locations with excellent, loyal customers. There is potential to grow the services and offerings with the right person in this role. Position Overview:The Grain Division Manager will be responsible for leading and directing the Grain division to develop stronger initiatives to increase structure and teamwork within the division. In addition, the Grain Manager will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the highest goal of exceptional customer service. Our ideal applicant must have experience in building teams, delegating responsibilities and understanding grain. Responsibilities: The Grain Division manager’s responsibilities involve supervision, grain management, marketing, profitability and sales, reporting, purchasing, merchandising, origination, resale pricing, inventory, service, maintenance, and other duties as assigned by management.Serve as the main merchandiser for the company and must have previous experience in logistic management to coordinate grain transport primarily through trucks.Assure proper grain storage and condition, operate the grain dryer efficiently, blend grain for proper loading, and assure quality specification grain is used.Develop and implement an annual marketing plan to uphold divisional goals.Coordinate purchases, receiving, sampling, grading, and shipping; and maintaining grain quality and quantity.Establish a profitable division by increasing the division’s market share through regular sales efforts.Must have knowledge and understanding of grain facilities and how to maintain the facility including ensuring equipment and property is in good condition. Qualifications:2+ years’ experience in grain marketing of corn and beansAbility to work with computers and marketing softwareExperience and knowledge in agriculture and cooperatives4+ years’ experience in building, elevator and equipment operations and maintenance5+years’ experience in grain handling, safety and maintenance, rolling stock, customer service and providing leadership for grain merchandising5+ years’ experience in futures and marketing as well as logistics while improving overall qualityAbility to pass Series 3 and 30 Certification This is an equal opportunity employer with great pay and a benefit program.Apply for this job.
