?COMPANY: GRAINLAND COOPERATIVEHIRING MANAGER: Jeff BrooksLOCATION: Minier, IL?Position Responsibilities?The Grain Operations Manager?s responsibilities involve supervision of personnel, elevator maintenance, building and equipment repair, grain handling and quality management, safety and compliance, reporting, and other duties as assigned to direct and coordinate plant operations at multiple locations.?The Grain Operations Manager will maintain a positive attitude that promotes team work within the cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative.??Supervision of Personnel?Staff and delegate work load to meet cooperative requirements?Staff full time and seasonal work force to fit cooperative needs with a minimum of unproductive labor costs?Actively support employee growth?Update employees regularly on company policies and proceduresIdentify training needed for individual employeesComplete annual performance reviews for direct reportsComplete salary and wage recommendations for direct reports??Maintenance and Repairs?Knowledgeable on repair and maintenance of grain legs, conveyors, grain dryers, and mobile equipmentKnowledgeable with PLC controllers and computersKnowledge about electricityMake recommendations on replacement, additions, or deletions of facilities and equipment when needed and/or justified??Supervise Grain Handling and Grain Management?Handle incoming, binned and outgoing grain?Assure scale weight and grading procedures are accurateMake efficient use of available storage space?Assure proper grain storage and condition?Properly bin grain according to grade and moisture to maintain the highest quality possibleMaintain up-to-date bin charts showing type, weight, grade, and quantity of grain stored in each bin.? Coordinate monthly grain inventory reportingCoordinate with location superintendents to regularly check on the condition of stored grainCoordinate with location superintendents to assure proper aeration of grain bins?Operate grain dryers efficiently?Supervise that company grain drying equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner.? This will be accomplished by following manufactures, company, industry practices?Record quality of grain and moisture before and after drying operation?Blend grain for proper loading?Blend grain for loadout to obtain the highest grade and priceLoad out railcars and grain trucks in approved manner?Supervise Elevator Safety and Compliance?Supervise, observe and enforce GRAINLAND Cooperative, OSHA, EPA, FDA, state and federal safety policies, and company insurance requirementsMaintain elevator housekeeping standards.? Maintain clean and neat elevators??Reporting?Submit reports to management or regulatory agencies as required.??EPA, OSHA, FDA, Illinois Department of Agriculture, otherParticipate in committee meetings as assignedCoordinate with contractors, insurance, vendors, others as assignedPerform Other Duties as Assigned?Required Qualifications?High School diploma or GEDStrong communication and customer service skillsMust have and maintain a valid driver?s licenseMust be able to work hours beyond those considered normalMust be able to climb, enter confined spaces, and ability to lift 50 poundsGrain operations and supervisor work experience is preferredProven computer skills as well as a track record of working effectively with others is requiredApply for this job.
