Role purpose
Accurately represent, position, and market elite soybean genetics and technology traits of Syngenta, or other originators, directly with third party seed company customers operating in North America. This includes providing supporting information on product performance and production characteristics for those genetics and/or traits to help customers (independent seed companies or Syngenta Distribution Channels) choose products that best fit their business plan, marketing strategy, and geographic sales area.
The main focus of this position is to concentrate on growing our licensed soybean business.
Accountabilities
Product Identification
Take notes as needed in your area of expertise and assist SYT PD in the selection and advancement of elite varieties that meet or exceed performance criteria of new products necessary to support the continued growth of GreenLeaf Genetics (GLG) customers.
Product Testing
Work with the RAL for each account to insure test seed is made available to allow your customers to make educated decisions around product advancement.
Product Information
Assist in the development of GreenLeaf Genetics product release presentations and support the GLG Communications Lead, SYT PD, and GLG Product Managers in creation of the Product Guides for distribution to customers each year.
Product Training and Positioning
Train and help customers identify potential products for their market areas. Encourage participation at GreenLeaf Genetics Field Days. Take advantage of all available resources to help familiarize them with the GLG product portfolio.
Product Forecasting
Insure you have assessed the portfolio needs of the key ISC and Distribution Brands, as identified by GLG and Syngenta Soy and Wheat Teams, to assist with advancing varieties to fulfill those customer demands.
Product Selling
Assist the RAL (Regional Account Leads) with customer contact each year during key periods and present GreenLeaf Genetics technical information, make product recommendations based on customer needs.Skills:
Knowledge, experience & capabilities
Bachelor degree in Agronomy or Agricultural Science. Masters degree an asset and or plant breeding experience an asset.
Strong knowledge of elite industry germplasm, traits, agronomy, and new technologies.
Five to ten years industry experience.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Strong team player and cooperative attitude with fellow employees.
Demonstrated ability to sell a technically based product.
Willingness to travel extensively at certain periods of the year and spend time in corn fields looking at products with customers.
Friendly, honest, sincere, and outgoing personality who enjoys meeting and working with customers to help them grow their business.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to collaborate across channels and disciplines, including GreenLeaf and NK channels, production, product evaluation, product marketing and commercial.

Total genetic penetration into GROWMARK, Winfield and CPS portfolio including NK brand and their house brands.
Growth in gross profit of licensing within the Key National Retailers.

Additional information
Travel requirements: 40%-60%
