Native Roots is the largest and fastest growing marijuana company in Colorado. With 17 retail locations and many, many more on the horizon, we are seeking a world class Head Grower to oversee our state-of-the-art facility and help us achieve our goals.The Head Grower will work as part of a team to manage a 150,000 square foot, state-of-the art, indoor Cannabis Production Facility in North Denver. Assist in daily operations and all aspects of bay planning, execution, and management; oversee and manage Grow personnel; and support Master Grower and Chief Operating Officer in all warehouse business tasks.Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage a large-scale, production facility with a wide array of supplemental lighting.Perform/supervise all required duties in the Grow Department, including the following areas of production: tissue culture, cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, cropping, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays, trimming, packaging, waste disposal, plant breeding, and inventory management.Continue to develop an extensive knowledge base of successful Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.Implement and modify our existing, robust cultivation SOPs, and nutrient regiments, including both soil-based and hydroponic systems.Manage and assist in training a cultivation crew of 50+ cultivators and ensure that all actions performed in the facility are compatible with highly developed systems.Operate heavy and light horticultural equipment and machinery.Develop methods for reducing spend and cultivate within budgetary restrictions.Oversee and manage basic pruning procedures for different stages of plant development.Maintain a clean and organized work environment.Implement and oversee water, media, and solution sampling and testing procedures.Adhere to industry standards and waste disposal procedures set forth by regulatory agencies.Aid in oversight of the completion of operations in timely and efficient manner.Quantify and qualify data regularly, while following SOP and company policies and procedures.Lead by example and assist with propagation, planting, irrigation, mildew control, pest control, cultural management, plant health and maturity observations, and harvesting.Maintain accurate daily activity records and operation logs as directed using designated software.Inspect crops and prepare reports and pre-harvest estimates for all crops.Insect detection, identification techniques, and general crop scouting.Oversee cleanliness and organization of all equipment present within the facility and warehouse.Coordinate and execute field operations efficiently and on time.Communicate effectively with supervisors, contractors, and employees.Contribute to a fun, team-oriented, and challenging work environment in an innovative and pioneering atmosphere.Contribute and improve upon already-existing operations and processes to improve work-flow, efficiency, and provide constructive feedback and recommendations.Comply with all HR policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.Facility maintenance and trouble-shooting as necessary.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsMust already possess or be able to qualify to receive a Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) support badge and 21 years of age or older.Colorado residency, no felony convictions, and must successfully pass an extensive background check.Knowledge of Horticulture equipment and coco irrigation systems.Capable of performing routine management and able to make equipment repairs or notify proper personnel when unable to.Proficient internet skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.Ability to plan ahead, trouble-shoot, anticipate problems, and problem solve.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at a time.Ability to learn new technologiesKnowledge of Ebb & Flow, DWC, NFT and Aeroponics growing methods, including in-depth knowledge of pH, PPM, and EC counts.Knowledge of soil growing methods including micronutrients, beneficial bacteria, and nutrient implementation.Knowledge of container systems with soil and hydro, as well as understanding temperature and humidity manipulation.Knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as plant treatment options.Preferred 2 years experience in growing.Knowledge of large-scale commercial plant cultivation, including nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, and air flow, etc.Ability to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of a large-scale grow warehouse.Physical RequirementsPhysical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of center.Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, and carrying boxes.Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
