Head of Marketing NA

Job PurposeThe CoA Head of Marketing is a professional marketing position that is responsible for the supervision of the marketing group in the creation and implementation of the annual marketing plan. The position serves to promote the CLAAS brand and equipment s respective images. The role is directly responsible and accountable for managing the CLAAS North American Marketing activity that support the targets agreed with Corporate Management ensuring that strategic development and implementation are consistent with the corporate strategic plan, and are targeted to achieve or exceed sales revenue, market share, and return on sales goals. The position will direct the marketing team for NA in delivering a strong and focused brand strategy positioned for long-term business sustainability.  Main Accountabilities and Essential FunctionsOversees the promotion of the CLAAS brand and products into the market place with both traditional methods, but also with new and innovative means.Develop and implement approved advertising strategies on a national, regional, and local basis.Oversight and direction of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and systemsOversight of the development and execution of the strategic direction for marketing that provides internal and external constituent value.Management of Marketing Department; identify / address training gaps amongst team members and develop training measures.  Consolidate and integrate existing activities in concert with new initiatives to create a dynamic team.Define and effectively communicate the CLAAS NA marketing strategy and align / execute necessary strategic and tactical actions of Marketing in close cooperation with Sales, Distribution Development, Service, Parts, Finance, and Human Resources.Work closely with CLAAS Distribution Development to monitor appropriate CLAAS branding and corporate identity at dealerships to ensure that the brand image is successfully transported into the market with maximum impact.Responsible for the proposal and implementation of approved corrective action to achieve targeted marketing goals.Establish, schedule, and lead regular Marketing interface meetings with Regional Management Teams.Implement approved CLAAS corporate marketing procedures and protocols.Act as primary contact for COA communications to the public.Manage outside marketing and PR agencies utilized by COA.Responsible for conducting and reporting market research through surveys, agencies, focus groups, etc.Provide project leadership for Marketing Efficiencies projects.Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations and standards. Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.  Note:  This position includes up to 25%-30% domestic and international travel by auto and air; valid driver s license with a verifiably continued safe driving history and passport are required. Additional FunctionsResponsible for continuous improvement processes and supporting related organizational development projects.Other projects as assigned by the COA President or NA Leadership Team. Educational/Training RequirementsBachelor s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Ag Economics or related field; MBA, highly desired. Experience RequirementsMinimum 10 years General Management and or Marketing Management Experience, preferred. Extended experience in agricultural business practices, farm machinery or capital equipment business, a plus.Minimum of five years leading exempt level employees; experience in team supervision, management and development as well as training and staff development; demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others.  Ability to give employee feedback in verbal and written form succinctly and timely.Proven ability to get results in growth and profitability of area of business accountability.Strategically minded, analytical change agent and decision maker with a clear vision and the ability to implement improvement measures impacting a variety of internal and external steak holders.Strong ability to develop and execute brand positioning strategies in direct cooperation with Sales & Distribution.Excellent communication skills both oral and written.  Must be able to communicate both up and down leadership organization to influence and sell ideas and programs. Proven ability to deliver progress while developing partnerships and knowing how to deliver brand expectations ensuring new and repeat business.  Proven customer relationship management skills.Exceptional project management skills with a track record of success in managing multiple project resources and team members across various departments.Knowledge of captive dealer networks, experience in Ag dealer networks a plus.Strong problem solving and decision making skills.Change management skills enjoy new challenges, pro-active behavior, self-motivated and ownership of tasks.Ability to effectively conduct presentations / public speaking.Must be able to meet deadlines and handle a high volume workload in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
