In this capacity, he/she manages and directs product sales, marketing and technical services to implement operating plans and provides strategic market feedback into new product development to attain the annual budgets and long term strategic goals. The role will partner closely with US Species Leadership and the Head of Global Diagnostics to assure that all marketing and sales strategies are fully aligned. Over the next two years, this role will also staff up the marketing and sales teams significantly to launch the expanded SMB product portfolio in the US. They will also oversee the head of Business Solutions in helping to launch a new suite of service solutions. PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:
* Successfully launch new SMB portfolio including staffing sales, marketing and technical teams, partnering with key customers, KOLs and other key partners to drive adoption * Work directly with key stakeholders across multiple Zoetis customer segments (producers, veterinarians, dairy farms and industry bodies) in order to understand the changing environment and future needs in order to deliver value with new and existing services. * Develops and implements short, medium and long-term products sales, marketing and technical service strategies to enable the diagnostics and business solutions business unit achieve the Zoetis standards of performance. * Directs and develops the Reference Lab segment sales team to achieve sales objectives while supporting the species team sales activities to deliver on full US region diagnostic sales targets. * Assumes responsibility for forecasting sales as well as delivering on sales, expense and IBT targets for the portfolio of business the role oversees * Directs and develops the technical services group to guide strategies and support: * Develops priorities and proposals for R&D diagnostics, new product areas and potential technology applications for the Reference Lab and Reproduction segments across each species group. * Leads the continuous development of new program offerings, access to new customers, advancement of best practices, and strategic planning * Leverages relationships with internal groups and stakeholders – Global Diagnostics, other species business units, Corporate Development and Life Cycle Innovation, Market Research, Global Manufacturing and Supply, Customer Excellence, Veterinary Medicine and Research & Development and Business Operations – to efficiently use Zoetis systems and sustain organizational commitment to the business. * Manages, grows and develops a team of professionals and reviews the organization and talent on an ongoing basis and recommends changes as appropriate. * Leads an ongoing analysis of marketplace and networks with opinion leaders, animal health and veterinary associations, customers and partners to ensure Zoetis leadership in this area * Develops and plays a key role in the delivery of diagnostic and business solutions strategy and operational excellence for all levels of management, as well as other internal and external audiences. JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Skills):
* The incumbent should posses at least a Bachelor”s Degree, preferably in Business/Sales or Marketing. An MBA is preferred. * A minimum of 15 years of related sales/marketing experience in the animal health or diagnostic industry, but others will be considered. * Prior P&L responsibility and knowledge of the diagnostics industry. * Experience leading and managing a team of professionals is required.
